yay for webmail and over protective firewalls

hmmm it's funny how i don't get much of this e-mail malarkey either, just the odd file that me anti-virus catches. that's cos I don't give out me addy to every dam site around, have some good firewalls, backed up with system and mail AV, spam filters and message rules, so I'm not suffering the latest spate of cr*p like a lot of other s*ds are.

Not exactly an accurate statement I'm afraid. It could be any number of other people that happen to have their email addresses in their own email program my friends. Spoofs are common these days.

UPDATE YOUR ANTI-VIRUS software everyone.

i caught it...it was mean. i spent 3 hours removing, then installing norton (silly me forgot to put it on after the format) then another system scan to make sure it was gone.

Yeah, i get about 10 emails a day off this damn virus.

Hardly anyone knows my "real" email address, so I have never received a worm. Hey, I might go an check my Hotmail account, maybe I'll have one!

Post Fri Jan 30, 2004 3:25 pm

my 'real' address is my only one
and unfortuanly every advertising site in the business has it on thier automail list

nd im not giving it up naythime soon cause every important thing i have (passwords, news that i forgot wat site they come from) is there

I had an originally-named Hotmail account, but someone I knew stole the name, and began to publish off-colour stories under it. Therefore, I created a new one (my current Hotmail acc) and it received 2000 spam messages within two weeks. I hadn't signed up to anything, so I couldn't figure it out. I then created a few different accounts on other providers, and now I have only one that I only reveal to ceretain people. It's safer that way. Besides, on that account, I have NEVER received a spam message.

lol. Don't get too excited

I took up Taw's method of inserting DIESPAMDIE in my address. No worms for me that I know of but I'll be on the lookout. Thanks for the heads up!

I have one crappy hotmail address that I use to sign up for all those dodgy things, and one good one who I only reveal to my fr3nds. 'tworks

Your Internet Provider can make or brake you too. Some screen mail before it gets to you which helps and some don't. Mine screens a lot including all pop-ups. That and I use Nortan for Vir/Fire for the last three years with no viruses.

Finalday

Until that final day. /Keith Green\
