Download Counters?

As some of you may know, I recently set up a new website (click below if you wish), and have added some downloads. The ones I have hosted on my space I wish to create a d/l counter for, but haven't got a clue how to do it.

I hope somebody can help me with this, as I would like to know just how much traffic I'm generating.

cardy don't do it...its one of the cardinal sins of the internet and is one of the top web design no-nos....

I can tell you how to do it, but I refuse to on the grounds of professional ethics.

If you still insist on adding a futile counter....do a search on google, there are hundreds of people ready to rip you off....but I'd like to suggest that you first consider paying an extra few quid a month for your web hosting package and get a decent statistics package added to your server.

Web Design No-no #48 - Thou shalt not add a pointless counter to thy webpage. No-one is interested in your visitor numbers apart from you, and it could result in your visitors laughing when they see that you have had 3 hits so far this year.

Please take my advice cardy.....step away from the counter....nothing to see here...move along now...
