this is interesting.. time travel revived!

This is where you can discuss your homework, family, just about anything, make strange sounds and otherwise discuss things which are really not related to the Lancer-series. Yes that means you can discuss other games.

someone on that website asked John about 2012 and he replied that it is the year when most of the nuclear weapons are launched, and the world as we know it has to "start again".

But again this proves nothing apart from he is a well educated man - which in itself only works against him - he was supposed to have been educated AFTER 2012 so are we to believe that he went to the remains of a university and not only learnt about philosophy and the history of the world, but also about astrophysics? Thats some curriculum for a soldier.

what a total crock of cr*p. don't tell me folk actually believe this rubbish? time travel indeed, bah.

Post Tue Jan 27, 2004 12:05 pm

It is a total crock. Time travel is pretty much an impossibilty. But, to add to this, his "string theory" part is as weak and un-informative as if i were to ramble on about string theory. He made no mention of many parts of the whole debate over it, and breezily glossed over it.

Furthermore - how on earth could you turn something on, and it cause you to "jump time". Time is like a timeline - and time slows down near the speed of light. Pray - what the hell do you do to go backwards??, and how the hell do you go forwards (sorry, it must involve travelling at the speed of light for that lenght of time for us at least).

I haven't read anything that says time travel is possible at all, and i don't beleive in it. Why? Cause do you really think in the first instance of time travel that they would go back and post on a website forum???

I think this will have been someones psycological experiment for a university course or something - exploring human behaviour. Just look at what it acheieved, a very nice study...............

p.s - many poeple have made predictions that came true over the years.....so predictions are NOT to be believed.
Read what was actually said, then see if without the persuasive "its true, it predicts this and this blah blah" can YOU see what its predicting. Can you TELL waht he was inferring, or is it ONLY AFTER something happened that someone said "that is what he was talking about" - cause if that is so - its a croc.

now if he could tell me something useful, like next weeks Lottery numbers, i might be halfway interested. how do you get in touch with him again?

Post Tue Jan 27, 2004 12:36 pm

As I'm sure you've worked out by now from my other posts, I think its a crock of **** too....however...I also read the whole site, and his comments where a lot more thought out than you give the guy credit for. He may be a paranoid dillusional, but he can construct a good argument. Remember he justified his lack of string theory by pointing out that he is merely a soldier using someone else's invention. When you examine it, the whole thing is full of holes - not the least his mother wrote a book about it and is living off the profit - but on the surface the guy forms a good argument.

mate, you know you have my upmost respect, but thats a crap argument. Just because something in theory doesn't work, and we haven't solved a way of doing it - and in fact believe it to be impossible - doesn't mean that it IS impossible.

A better argument would be, its a crock of **** because if you actually read his posts without reading anything into them...apart from the end of the world as we know it, he predicts nothing. Not one goddamn thing. There is not one date. Not one event. Nothing. He didn't even predict the recent gulf war, or the US two towers incident....things that blatantly will go down in history...things that happened in HIS life time. Yes he's supposed to be 8 or so by now...but I was younger than him when the falklands war was on, when strikes ruined britain, when maggie thatcher "reigned supreme"....I remember the lot. I could even give you approximate years off the top of my head...maybe even months. A nuclear attack would be devastating, but if you survived unscathed, travelled back in time to when you were a kid, you would be able to give at least SOME facts.

I don't think time travel and the possibility of it should be on debate here. I think we should be debating whether this dude is in a mental institution or "back in 2038".

Yeah, it's ironic how you never, ever see the headline 'Psychic wins Lottery'

that is what he wants, for people to talk about him
