Allegiance

This is where you can discuss your homework, family, just about anything, make strange sounds and otherwise discuss things which are really not related to the Lancer-series. Yes that means you can discuss other games.

Allegiance

If any of you still remember Allegiance. As you know, it was abandoned by Microsoft (their own lack of foresight it seems ). Nonetheless, I still have to say it is one of the best team-based space sims ever. Fortunately, I've recently discovered, some fans have kept it alive.

Only seems to have a max of 50 people on some days, but it works.

very hard learning curve though. Harder than X2. You have to know your role like the palm of your hand and even then people yell at you.

A very strategic game it is. It's a marvel to see two knowledgeable teams fight it out for hours upon hours though.

Wooo I LOVED Allegiance! I got it first in I think it was PCGAMER on that free CD but lost it a WHILE ago (talking couple years) man this is a great link, thanks for reuniting me with one of my favorite games hehehe . By the way guys the tutorials are boring as **** but you need them, the game has got a helluva a learning curve, its not exactly a simulation but very hard nonetheless. Although even after so long i just skipped them and went to the practice arena......... still got it . The Voice Chat (or QuickComm) options still amaze me to this day, you basically hit a quickhat key, touch a button under a certain category and your pilot says over the comm channel whatever he says, theres various voices but theres TONS of these. Which I absolutely love, instead of typing I just hit which category I need and hit the command/taunt/order/request whatever. My favorite has to be the taunt where your guy says "oh whoopty ****ing-do" (really) or the one where you can say "you havent heard the latest news? we just got our asses kicked man!".

Ah well, its a great game, too bad it bombed, I wonder if they'll ever make Allegiance 2........ I can dream........ Its like part RTS, part space shooter.... very tactical and interesting. And that game Savage: Battle For Newerth is saying they were first to incorporate hundreds of players MMORPG style with RTS...... yeah right, Allegiance can hold up to 200 players, lots of bases, upgrade options, the whole RTS layer the game is DEEP.

Wow, Microsoft give up code?

Brings tears to my eyes (in the good way). Real Allegiance development can finally take off.
