a bit of a chewwie star wars rumour...

This is where you can discuss your homework, family, just about anything, make strange sounds and otherwise discuss things which are really not related to the Lancer-series. Yes that means you can discuss other games.

EP3: Mayew Also Signed for Sequel Trilogy?
Wed, Jan 14, 04 05:10:30 PM EST

Rob tells us that the December 2003 issue of the British movie mag HOTDOG has just hit the stands here in the U.S. and found several cool Star Wars related things. In particular, on page 12, here's this possibly amazing passage:
"No wonder Peter "Chewbacca" Mayhew is smiling. Not only has he been rescued from obscurity and given the chance to reprise his role as our Wookiee comrade for Episode III, but his contract also stipulates that he'd be required to appear in Episodes 7, 8, and 9.
Yes folks, seems there are actual whispers at Lucasfilm that the 'sequel' trilogy might be in the works..."

In addition, there's a cool spoiler page (though nothing new for TheForce.net regulars) with a great caricature of Hayden as Anakin/Vader. The cover "story" is a list of the "50 Coolest Movie Characters Ever". #22 is Boba Fett, #13 is Indiana Jones, and #3 is Darth Vader! There's also a "Brief History of Time" according to the movies. It begins with "A Long Time Ago".

Please. Be. True. Of course, remember that the official word from Lucasfilm has been and is currently "no." We'll email them for a comment on the story and post any updates here.

7,8&9 that would be a damn shame would ruin the other films
theve ruined other films in the past by too many sequels sometimes 1 is too many sometimes its more
some examples police academy was a very good film but even 1 sequel was too much and in the end the series of films became a joke
rocky well i think they went 1 too far as with lethal wepon ,4 was awful and took away from the others
the list is long and i hope they wont be doing the same with starwars though i can understand them milking an idea for every cent they can as in the end thats what its about

It only depends upon the strength of the plot and good direction/production.

being a space movie, it has near counltess possiblities in making follow ons....but making them worth while is what should happen. I doubt he would really - he will have taken note of the drubbing he has received over the first three - and unless he did hand over the reins, and the story writing - i think it is unlikely that this will happen.

Also - if Indiana Jones isn't in the top ten of cool movie characters- who the hell is - who are the other 9 un-named icons of coolness and sauve ability?
(erm - apart from James Bond obviously being Number 1 )

As a wise man once said:
All good trilogies come in threes
Now look what happened to SW as soon as Lucas deviated from that! A trilogy of trilogies? That's just going to take the piss. I take it it'll be based long after the original trilogy, otherwise how will they work the old characters in? I know for a fact that Harrison Ford doesn't want to have anything more to do with it, and I doubt anyone could ever manage to substitute him and pretend to be the older version of Han at all well. I agree with Arch, Lucas needs a restraining order.

At the producton rate Lucas makes the films, most of the princible actor will be in an old folks home before they can make the films. Personaly, I want to see one more Star Trek film. A next Gen flight back into the past to meet the NX Enterprise?

pls. Star Trek is as dead as a dodo, it looks so old and tired. Desperate springs to mind looking at it in recent years. The films peaked with First Contact and the TV series peaked with the end of DS9 and since then it's been downhill all the way. it's so dull and unimaginative now that even my sofa gets bored. Cr*p, I used to love ST, it was the highlight of my TV week. It's like having teeth removed without anaesthetic now.

You got to remember, with Enterprise being set in the past, they are very limited with whom they can encounter with out messing with the time line. Even the borg episode was risky. At least ST TNG made people think a little and worked with all the actors. My favorite is Picard.

who cares? st is boring now

put it like this, other than that Vulcan bird with the lungs, everything about it is wooden; in fct I've been seeing this trend a lot in big-budget stuff, wooden do-it-by-the-numbers acting by actors chosen for looks not ability, and they fail to convince, you simply dont care about them, anybody could do it. Same in SW, who gives a stuff about Anakin? Hayden Christensen or whatever his name is, is a plank. Even ewan seems to be just doing it cos of the money and he knows it doesnt have to be anything special, wont stop anyone from watching it.

well I wont be; if there is a 7, 8 and 9, they can stick that. Not interested.
