Games similiar to FL & SL?

This is where you can discuss your homework, family, just about anything, make strange sounds and otherwise discuss things which are really not related to the Lancer-series. Yes that means you can discuss other games.

Ah yes. Allow me to recommend turning on the laser targetting computer (something that aims the guns for you once you are aiming in the general direction of the target - don't worry, this doesn't make it sinch) And use missiles.
To use missiles, press the missile launch button once to arm it, then aim at the target and once the missile icon is flashing to tell you you have a lock, hold down the missile fire button until it fires.

FYI I have completed all combat training missions.

Griff - I knew you'd have a go at me! Still, you weren't as offensive as I thought you'd be. That's not an invitation! . By the way, I DO have joystick! A "Gravis Destroyer XTreme"! It made no difference. I am an exceedingly patient person, and learning curves hold no problem for me, but I just couldn't get my mind around it. It's not a deficiency or a lack of skill or patience, but rather a mind-set. It is just unfortunate that you couldn't customise the controls. Stupidest decision ever!

Taw - Alright, but don't say I didn't warn you... tell us what *you* think when you buy it.

Well, its ok for people to have their own oppinion but to yammer on at everyone NOT to buy the game is a bit ignorant.

Just say what you found good and what you found bad and what you found hard. Others can make a decision off that.

Mmm, I probably could have explained myself better, what I meant to do was merely state that people should do some more reasearch before buying a game with such elemental failings, such as the control layout. These are elements of all good games that should be fully customisable. It's just common sense.

Note: CoD was a great game! Don't you remember me posting that? Obviously not.

well I do agree with you as far as the controls suck for combat (with small ships), Freespace is eons ahead. However it didn't get me down as much as that was not what I had looked forward to in the game.

Frontier: Elite didn't have anything great to boast of with controls and combat either, yet many regard it as a classic.

yes you wombat-farmer i do remember you posting that, but it's more fun to taunt you with obvious and unsubtle humoir...

Fair enough Taw, whatever floats your proverbial . If I had any stereotypical British traits to satirise, I would make fun of you as well. Mmm, if I could only think of some...

Well, your joystick issues fell through! X2 The Threat version 1.2 is released, and it tweaked the movement and control in a big way!

The good thing about X2 is the mod and dev support. Its only been a month or something since it came out and there has already been 2 patches, which included ideas and bugfixes that ordinary guys posted in the forums.
