TLR Idol....

This is where you can discuss your homework, family, just about anything, make strange sounds and otherwise discuss things which are really not related to the Lancer-series. Yes that means you can discuss other games.

TLR Idol....

Forget Pop Idol, American Idol and World Idol, how about TLR Idol?

Who here can play any musical instruments? Ever been in a band? Ever recorded an album?

Me? Well, under the psedonym DJ Trev have released two albums on mp3.com, "Club Nights" and "The Darker Side of Dance". Easy to make as I used a computer package called Dance EJay and Music 2000

I also used to play bass guitar (ineptly) in a christian band called Bridge and have composed a load of MIDI songs. However, my talent is more attuned to listening to music rather than playing and composing it.

TLR Idol?
I'm sorry but if this is anything like the Pop Idol shows I'm likely to vomit.
In Britain at least, celebrity or reality-based shows have taken over everything on TV.

I play guitar on and off for about 14 years. I've played a few shows in my old cover band "Bombay Duck" which was a joke name to start with but it stuck in the end. I still catch up with the drummer but I haven't seen the others for years.

Prior to that I was in a band my guitar teacher got together and recorded an instrumental track, penned by yours truly, which I've managed to loose. We did one gig at a musical variety show for about 1000 people which was cool but that was about it. The chick on keyboards was an old duck who was useless, so I got out as quick as I could.

Over the past 3 or 4 years I've been teaching myself to sing, so I can at least hold a tune these days when I play songs for my little nephews.

I played Petruccio in my Junior High's rendition of "The Taming of the Shrew"

yeah that's right Petruccio is the lead role.

an yeah that's right I was good. people laughed. the lead actress loved me. i was the best petruccio that school had ever seen.

gimme my oscar. now.

Good?....Bad?......I'm the guy with the gun.

I hate reality TV too - I just figured TLR Idol is a better thread title than "Music I did". When I said forget Pop Idol, American Idol and World Idol, I MEANT IT!!!

We already have the makings of the tle BAND

I can play "god save the queen" on my armpit

Post Wed Jan 07, 2004 2:18 am

i can play "Riding along on the crest of a wave" on the harmonica!

oddly enough that's a lie. In fact I can (sort of meaning badly) play cello. Now me dad actually was a musician and he could play trumpet, sax, clarinet, guitar and double bass. I'm total cr*p but there are a couple of tunes I can knock out moderately well. Don't like doing it though.

guitar...
playing Gr 3/4 stuff.. but i haven't got past my basics book.. am i good or what ?

band ? hm... i don't think thats my style.. my style is more like asasinating the entire (my)school authority board. highest first

grom, can you record your armpit and turn it into mp3 and float it on the web? the higher the quality the better.

and someone tell me what god save teh queen sounds like... other than from grom's armpit.

hehe ok ok I admit it, I can't really play "god save the queen" on my armpit (but I do a mean "all along the watchtower" ), but it amused me for a moment and got cardy into trouble, so hey it was worth it

I do play the guitar though, I've been playing for about 12 years now...

...but I envy those armpit players, I really do
