Discount Xmas stores

Anyone else getting these sprouting all over the place in their local high street?
It suddenly dawned on me today that we have 5 new shops in my High St.
All Xmas orientated, all selling the same cheap novelty decorations and other random trinkets and all likely to close before the end of January. Is this a British national phenomenom? or are the residents of Orpington such stingy buggers that these stores make a mint selling cheap arse pressies?

I hate all year round x-mas stores. And they're here in the US as well. I also hate radio stations that play chrismas songs after Halloween. --- VH16

we get them round our way
they are never there on the 27th when you go back with the tree lights that have set your house on fire
