MMMM Spam is great started eating it in the Army rather than continuing to eat the @#$^^*# bologna they gave us 30 out of 30 days for lunch (still cant eat bologna or hot dogs for that matter *shudder*) I like spam with breakfast fried up with a couple of over medium eggs and toast mmmmm. (and if you think spam is bad try scrapple) 'Tis a local thing round the Philadelphia way and as it name implies its the leftover scraps of pigs mushed together and seasoned. I eat scrapple like once every 5 years or so then thats enuf for me

what's "scrapple" precious? and when were you in the Army and what did you do? (just being nosy) presumably US Army.

@Taw Aye US Army I was an MP liked the army hated my job. ahh well live and learn . Scrapple is pork scraps any thing hooves snout etc any thing that doesnt get used it gets ground up and pressed they add some spices to it as well. Not bad if you are not squeamish about what goes into it. you slice it and dip it in flour and fry it it is used primarily as breakfast meat as I said I think it is local to Pennsylvania. I cant for the life of me think why it hasnt caught on

(nothing personal, but you know what everyone else thinks of Military Police, we call them "redcaps" as you prob. know)

I dug myself a bad hole with this once, when i was at a works do and got p*st up and starting mouthing off about how much I effing hated the MPs. This old bloke who hardly ever spoke, piped up, "actually my son's a Military Policeman" and I felt about 2 inches tall (about the same height as Emperor 'Tangs soldiers ) and tried to bluster me way out, but 'twas not to be; I'd already made a total tw*t of myself.

I'm sure you did a cracking job, even though everyone hated you for making their lives a misery - that's what MPs are for!

Im vegiterian, but i didn't knew that spam was acctualy meat . I always thought it was only a word defining 'spammers'

We've got red-caps in NYC. Only, they're the guys you WANT to find if you've arrived at the airport or the train station with a ton of luggage. Redcaps are what we call porters here.

Most of the people I knew that were MP's were on a powertrip me I didnt do so good at the job had a chance to go into languages when I first joined up but noooooooo "I want to help people I said" "I think I could do some good I said" BAH what a Naive Creature I was then. It didnt take long to get bitter about the whole thing. longest 4 years of my life (actually Basic and Advanced training were quite fun) after that BLEAGH

@steel info on local delicacies is indeed a good thing! Innocous sp? sounding things like Chitlins or Rocky Mountain Oysters can be a disgusting suprise
Chitlins= lining of pig intestines boiled i Believe Rocky Mountain Oysters=Pig Testicles. (just an fyi in case someone did not know what those things are)
