Why are you here?

This is where you can discuss your homework, family, just about anything, make strange sounds and otherwise discuss things which are really not related to the Lancer-series. Yes that means you can discuss other games.

the question being of course, now we're here, will we ever leave?

Don't really remember how I got here, but it was about SL, as FL wasn't out yet. I liked the site, I stayed and don't seem to be able to leave

I needed to find out where the save files were to shift from one computer to another. And I got a very promt reply. The only other site I frequent frequently is the one listed in my sig. [Where I am also Zone) and both for the same reason. Amusing, friendly and you get sensible (and quick) answers to problems, game related or otherwise - thank you Taw Little do you know that YOU'RE the reason everyone hangs around... just incase their computer breaks. Well, it's why I hang around

I came. I saw. I got hooked. Oh well...
It's the community that keeps me from leaving... ( as much as they wish for my permanent departure, they're the main reason I'm still here - oh the irony )

well thank you very much Zone, that's rather decent of you to say that. But who does Uncle Taw turn to when his computer breaks? Why none other than Chetnik, who posted just after you. And occasionally Mustang. and possiibly Esquilax. And Gromit for web-stuff. And anyone who knows more than me.

@Chet, I made my response to your return in another thread.

@Topic, I wanted to learn about Freelancer which was coming out soon. I visited TLR off and on just checking out the photos, the rumours and the interview with the developers. When I looked into the forums I lurked for about a month reading into some of the modding things then when I had a firm grasp on what the game was possible of I posted a thread about the possibility of making a Sol System, I called it Battle for Earth. I was at no point ever called a newbie or a n00b.

I think I know more than you Taw, about Baseball that is.

As for me, it's a very long and complicated story. Or at least, that is what it would become if I told it (as you may have noticed I love to complicate things). I will however, give you the short version;

- Read some reviews of FL, seemed very good.
- Picked up a cheap copy at a swapmeet.
- Loved FL, and played the hell out of it.
- Discovered TLR while looking for mods.
- Thanks to the excellent modding tutorials and simplicity of FL's ini files, I decided to mod.
- Stayed around to support my mods, and didn't end up leaving.

Wow! What a rollercoaster of an autobiography that was!

The above post is true, and by true I mean "false". It's comprised of lies, but they are entertaining lies and in the end, isn't that the real truth? The answer is "no".

my first post was on how to increase your rep with the junkers in the spoiler forum the day before u joined SS and i wasn't called a nOOb or anything like that either, infact the people were most welcoming who answered my question

I actually remember your first post, Gow. I was there the day it was born...

I came here a while back, looking for a map or summat'.
Then i dicovered the forums and decided to have a go at a mod
I posted my first thread, and it died a lonely death, very, very quickly(see if you can find it )
I cant remember the next things that happened, but i soon discovered OT then something about someone having a date caught my eye.
Then about two months later the BOFH incident occured, and not much else happed since then

@Nickless ... daft to the nth degree.

@Gowserpaul, you were a member for 6 days before posting anything?

I did all my reading previous, so I was posting pretty soon after signing up.

Sir S

Some of my early posts:
Battle for Earth mod <--Not my first afterall, but my favourite
Is it possible to give Asteroids paths through a system? <--Still a cool idea
Mod Checklist for installing parts of Mods <--This is sort of now possible, Chips used FLMM to do some interesting pick and choose mod stuff.
Mod Questions I haven't found answers to <--The first thread, I don't know if it was my first post. I think not.
