This is where you can discuss your homework, family, just about anything, make strange sounds and otherwise discuss things which are really not related to the Lancer-series. Yes that means you can discuss other games.

Web Site

Just wondering if anyone could help me, I was wondering how to make my website redirect you to a different page when you enter an invalid URL - like the one Lancers Reactor has.

Do you mean like the 404 error?

Post Fri Dec 12, 2003 1:07 am

Yes, that would be it. I have one Idesigned for my site, but I don't seem to be able to figure out how to make the webserver rerout you to it. I checked the windows help (for Microsoft Word 2000, the Development Envyronment) and from that was able to conclude that it has something to do with global.asp, but beyond that I'm not sure, infact, I'm not even sure if that whole Global.asp thing is right either

its quite easy chap, check out this little tutorial

you just have to create a file in your root directory that points at it...hope that helps!

EDIT: Forgot to mention...these are the other error numbers you can customise…just by adding or changing the number in .htaccess…(the text file you create in the tutorial)

400 Bad Syntax
401 Unauthorized
402 Not Used (Payment Granted)
403 Forbidden
404 Not Found
Error in Server
500 Internal Error
501 Not Implemented
502 Overloaded
503 Gateway Timeout

Thanks a lot. Now if I only had an idea what those other errors were... I'm sure I can figure it out though.

No probs. I wouldn't worry about them too much...its extremely unlikely that your users will ever run into them - not unless your host is incompetent, or you're using frontpage anyway.

Good luck with it
