Black & White

This is where you can discuss your homework, family, just about anything, make strange sounds and otherwise discuss things which are really not related to the Lancer-series. Yes that means you can discuss other games.

Black & White

Has anyone ever played this game? It's becoming even more popular than Freelancer on my PC, something I thought would NEVER happen.

If anybody has played the game before, could you be so kind as to tell me how many missions there are, and ho many different worlds you visit? I've been to three now, and the third is where that Lethys guy has got his creature (the wolf) to torture my creature (the tiger, called High on Cardamine lol. I guess even other games are influenced by Freelancer !)

EDIT: OOH! I made commodore!! man i need to get a life....

it's a god game, where you train a creature to be good or evil. Evil and your worshippers fear you and your creature will be nasty to them. Good and your creature helps them by supplying places with food and wood, like supplying the workshop with wood, and the temple with food so your worshippers don't die from starvation. lol that's funny.

you have a conscience in two parts. one is a devil who is evil and tries to persuade you to do evil things, and your good side tries to persuade you to do good things! its funny when they get bored and go watch 'the religious channel' or something. all in all its a cracking game, and you can't grumble when you pick it up for a fiver i is a right bargain hunter lol!

i'd highly recommend it, and once you're on it, there's no turning back! unless of course, like my dad, you prefer to play old arcade games instead of the up-to-date games like Freelancer, Black & White, and Rise of Nations! Hell he's always on this thing called Myriad, a karaoke file sharing thing,. he only goes on for the bloody quiz!

I've played it but never really liked it. For me, it was a "high expectation - quick return" game.

@Wiz, Serves you just right. Never ever have above average expectations about a game!
they will only turn out the opposite!!

On to the matter at hand, namely B&W, I have played it and I liked it
ofcourse being an evil god is all that can be said about the "having fun" part
(Note: The fun will be enormous!!!) but there are certain benefits to a good personality, but they ain't as much fun as the pure evil personality!!

Secod about the creature, well I did most of the work my self and let my creature repair most of the damage.

Oh, a tip, If you plan to teach your creature new tricks, be sure to do the trick yourself till he has it for 50%, then let him practice on it, 'till he does the trick himself, that is you give him a spell and he does the spell without your help.
I have seen him put out fires and stuff with some of the tricks I thaught him.
Second make sure you train that creature as much as possible!, let him carry rocks halfway accross the Island, and back ofcourse, he will get strong and he will get quite the muscle.

I beat that game. It took fricken forever.

It's a neat game, and the AI for your creature is quite awesome, but the micromanagement of your whiny followers and the boundless boredom won't make me play it anytime soon.

Black & White 2 should be funner, with more emphasis on your creature and the ability to raise armies.

Yeah, I have that game. Hardly play it however, never on multiplayer either.
It was kind of cool the first time through it but after that it got a certain tinge of "been there, done that" style of play. Mind you, chucking villagers into mountains and drowning them never loses its appeal. Only prob was that I could never master the creature, the most "important" part of the game, because he wouldn't train properly.

I've moved on to other games now, but it is okay to play for a while.

I played it and never thought much of it. The learning AI was pretty impressive but the whole creature thing never really seemed to have much of a point to it. Meaning you could still get through much of the game without ever using your creature.

did you know some people signed a petition against it? because they thought it was so cruel to have a creature trapped in a game?
