i've had a go on one of the missions on the russian campaign of it and it is like the start of enemy at the gates

I bought it after release, it's definately the best WWII shooter to date. There are some awesome sequences, particularly the missions set in Stalingrad.
There is also a mission at Pegusus Bridge (the bridge the Brit paratroopers siezed on D-Day), it's almost an exact digital copy of the whole area, very cool.

All in all though, it's very much like an improved version of Allied Assault with AI squad mates. There are some slow missions where you are on your own but most of the time your in a squad.
