*Plunks down soap box once again and steps up*

<ahem>

OK. I admit it. I am corporate. I wear a suit and tie four days out of five in the cool weather months. The employer permits "business casual" dress on Fridays and during the hot weather months. In the US that translates to business casual dress from Memorial Day to Labor Day.

The purpose of keeping your clothes neat and orderly, as well as other daily items of use, is a reflection of whether you actively take the time to be in control of your life.

Many people will argue that it is a waste of time that could be spent enjoying that which you are trying to control. But Taw has a point, especially for the kids. Keeping things neat and tidy is the same thing as sweating the details. Too many kids, today, don't know how to sweat the details much less care to.

Shortcuts lead to sloppy solutions that lead to fatal flaws that cause catastrophes. Making it a habit to keep things in order is a good way to train the brain to think things through properly and not be afraid of and/or allergic to hard work.

Thank you.

well in my line of work, its guaranteed if i wear a suit to an interview, i will be the ONLY person in the building who is, but i can see your point. i think.

@Indy, i couldn't have said it better myself!

@grom, have u been looking in my bedroom again? yes, all those things, my ties make their statements by colour. I don't approve of patterns or "joke" ties either, as u might imagine.

interestingly, although my room, clothing, body odors and everything else is a mess, computer wise, i'm the tidyest soul around. I have everything catagorised etc. all my mp3s are labeled up in a specific order, all specific work is in its correct place etc., even my programming is all properly structured and commented and layed out. You could set your watch by my code. Its like art.

I would just like to point out that nobody here or anywhere else is in control of thier life. You are in control of your mind, your body (for the most part) and your image, but quite a bit is up to fate.

No offense anyone - but there are like 25 posts in one day. Most of them are the same people chatting in threads. Do you LIVE here, or are weekends just really boring?

To be honest, I like wearing ties and suits. I don't get too many chances to, though. With the entire world getting sloppier and chaotic, I see tidiness as the new form of rebellion

I love dressing up too. I had so much fun at my cousins wedding in my suit

@WLB

Sorry man. I do remember your post elsewhere and what you've been up against lately. And I did not mean anyone can have absolute and total control over one's life. That's impossible.

But there is a difference, I think, between just letting things go and applying some effort to accomplish those things that can be achieved.

To be able to get yourself in a position to achieve whatever it is that can be accomplished, you have to apply some sweat equity. And you have to learn how best to apply that equity. Just throwing yourself into the breach, so to speak, doesn't always work and is wasteful.

@Arcon

Ummmm. messy personal hygiene....You mean that shot of you on ArconTV with what looked like a hair extension sticking out of the top of your head is "normal?"

@Chips

Well, I cannot speak for everyone else but I, for one, am babysitting this weekend.
When baby naps, I go online and I play my mods on FL. It beats tv most times of the day. Wifey has to work this weekend so it has been Mr. Mom for me. Actually, I have been Mr. Mom quite a bit of late. Baby doesn't always stay asleep.

But even if I wasn't babysitting...... What are you insinuating?

Careful or you'll become one of us!!!

@Wolf demon, can we get one of your laughs? This would be the proper place for it after a sinister warning like that.
