Is anyone a non-lancer

This is where you can discuss your homework, family, just about anything, make strange sounds and otherwise discuss things which are really not related to the Lancer-series. Yes that means you can discuss other games.

"You now like the bomb the used against Bin Laden instead of nukes which they should have"

do you mean "you know, like the bomb they used against Bin Laden, instead of nukes, which they should have used?" rather a bizarre concept to say the least, rather extreme and from a military point of view quite useless, nuclear weapons in a barren and mountainous region against guerillas, not really the most suitable ordnance to deploy, is it? i also think you're getting "daisycutters" confused with "bunker-busters" the former having been developed during the Vietnam war to rapidly clear forested areas of trees, surface obstacles and unfortified enemy positions in preparation for helicopter landings. not much use in Afghanistan those, considering Al-Quaeda and the Taleban were hiding in fortified caves. Or maybe you're also getting Afghanistan confused with Iraq? they do both share the letter A I suppose.

I would have thought that anyone with even a passing interest in the Lancer series would visit TLR at some point; however I really don't see the point if you're not interested in Lancer games or similar, and i don't see any "fun" in taking part in something you have no interest in. Where's your common frame of reference? it would be akin to me saying "has anyone ever joined the Dagenham Girl Piper's for fun?" when i don't live in Dagenham, I'm not a girl, and I don't like pipe music - bit daft really.

@Taw, they did use daisy cutters in Afghanistan, mainly to scare the crap out of the Taliban more than anything. I saw some footage of two Afghans being knocked of thier feet and thrown to the ground just by the shockwave, pretty impressive piece of ordenance for a PR weapon.

@Must, yeh I remember some footage outside Mazar-e-Sharif and the Kabul approaches, they used em a bit at Kandahar too, but not really the weapon of choice for remote mountainous regions are they? q effective dropped into massed troops though.

@grom, u r a silly fellow go have some sweet tobacco

Gromit.

That was "Chemical Strips" they used to clear the trees for Huey landings so the could kill the VC's in the tunnels. Also the Bunker-Busters are bombs that pierce through the bunker, Daisy Cutter's were used as a terror weapon as they have a two-mile radius in which they can kill an average man B-).

Where is Neo?

two mile radius? give over. more like 200 yards; show me where u get ur tech facts from.

Post Wed Nov 26, 2003 9:33 pm

eh, maybe they don't kill women or small rodents named Kevin either? perhaps it was a bomb designed by lesbians, only kills men (on average)

If that happens, we can always count on our male homosexual brothers to fight back, since they're the ones getting hit the hardest

do lesbians (more importantly dykes) hate gay (homosexual..see, i remembered Loc) men as well?

Post Thu Nov 27, 2003 4:33 am

Arcon asks Locutus:

Do lesbians .... hate gay(s) .... as well?

Well. If they do it certainly isn't because they are in competition with each other over love interests
