New Battlestar Galactica!

This is where you can discuss your homework, family, just about anything, make strange sounds and otherwise discuss things which are really not related to the Lancer-series. Yes that means you can discuss other games.

there was a lot of good in the original BG, ok there was a lot of awfulness as well! the sfx were actually good for a tv show of the time, a lot of films could have done with production values like BG, the actors were actually quite good but served with poor screenplays, there was the all-too-obvious network dumbing down in order to make it a "family" show; u could see that underneath all the touchy-feely stuff and stock characters there was a crackin' dark grim story there. many of todays sfx people and directors/producers cut their teeth on BG - without it there'd have been no B5 or DS9, who's resemblence to BG is not just coincidence. the later episodes* involving Count Iblis and the finding of "Terra" I can watch over and over again, esp. the capture of the Enforcers "i'll have u know the Eastern Alliance is the supreme power in this part of the galaxy" "You've never seen a Battlestar before, have you?.... now, what's that you were saying about supreme power..?" and Balthar's "escape"

*not that awful Galactica 80 with those bouncing kids and the Milky Bar kid, though, that was pants.

<ahem> actually Starbuck is a woman in the new series. which would make womanising very interesting! although methinks that they won't be visiting the Lesbania system...

Does that mean he'd been taking those pills? The 'make you the oppisite gender' pills.

"what is this you humans call sex?"
i want that old classic line

Post Sat Nov 15, 2003 5:19 pm

@ Taw that would certainly help the ratings for the series

"i'll have u know the Eastern Alliance is the supreme power in this part of the galaxy" "You've never seen a Battlestar before, have you?

Perhaps my favorite set of lines!

@Taw, if that's how it was, @RILMS, if that's how it will be .... it doesn't sound like it will be much different. Just the societal political correctness has changed a bit.
