Other end of the geek spectrum?

This is where you can discuss your homework, family, just about anything, make strange sounds and otherwise discuss things which are really not related to the Lancer-series. Yes that means you can discuss other games.

Other end of the geek spectrum?

Any one still play dice and paper D+D? I DM a bit and actually got my wife to play :p (very suprising cause she thought it very silly) I am partial to 1st and 2nd edition dont quite like third. All my players (4 this time) are complete noobs but are a lot of fun.

I've tried to play Vampire: The Dark Ages before. The GM was horrable. So, I don't really play paper, but I RP online quite often.

I had some really geeky friends in high school and for a while I played D&D with them. The guy who was dungeonmaster gave one of my characters a cloak of thorns that was really tough. Then we fought some dragon and it killed everyone in the party except me, because my turn was last and I put on my cloak of thorns and killed the dragon with one hit. Then the dungeonmaster was mad and I said, "hey, you're the one who decided how strong that cloak was when you gave it to me," and he changed how tough it was.

On a funny note, have any of you guys seen that episode of Dexter's Laboratory where he's playing D&D (they call it Monsters and Mazes). It's pretty funny. Dexter's mom makes him let his sister be the dungeonmaster and she makes him play as Lodo the Burrower who's only weapon is his trusty mandolin.

I play D&D. Mostly AD&D 2nd edition, but recently I did a little bit of 3rd ed.
I used to be a (good) DM, had 7 players in a campaign that lasted for 16 months (played 3-6 hrs a day, almost every day), they all still have their character record sheets (Level 17 in average)... Now I'm playing this wacky mage/thief in a local RPG store, there are 5 parties that occasionaly meet each other, playing different campaigns in the same world. 'Tis good fun, although I'm finding it difficult to invest as much time into it as I did before...

Careful what you wish... You might just get it.

i thought the other end of the geek-spectrum was cool-ness?

as i understand the geek-spectrum and it associated elements, both theoretically and measured, the dichotomy of geek'dome requires that the other end be its equal in relativity, yet opposite in its abstraction...???

did i miss something?

Hmmm My sig? easy it is from famous last words from rpg'ers in character specifically Call of Cthuulu. Hastur is Cthuulu's brother and if his name was spoken aloud he would appear and eat you. no joke no save no nothing
edited to note then Call of Cthuulu is based on the works of HP lovecraft and the Necronomicon (which he wrote and is not a "real text"
