More pointless cross-universe fight

This is where you can discuss your homework, family, just about anything, make strange sounds and otherwise discuss things which are really not related to the Lancer-series. Yes that means you can discuss other games.

Well, if the claws are completely indestructible, then I'll go with the claws. Seriously, all you'd have to do is use the claws to slash the lightsaber hilt, rendering the user with 2 hunks of metal to throw at you. The lightsaber would also be unable to block or parry the attack (that is, if the lightsaber really does use 'light' in its attacks). By the way, how the heck does a lightsaber do its duty? I mean, what the heck is the bloody thing!? Cheers.

Since adamantium claws are indestructible, thus the lightsaber cannot destroy the claws. But, the lightsaber can kill the weilder. But truth be told, the adamantium claws can kill the weilder of the lightsaber as well. Thus, whoever strikes first would win. But that is the oversimplified version.

We must first anylyze the properties of a lightsaber, and the effects it has on indestructible material. There are several possibilities:
1: The lightsaber stops at the adamantium claws because the energy of the blade cannot pass through the material.
2: The lightsaber passes through the adamantium claws, but the claws are unaffected.
3: The lightsaber immediately turns off at touching of the claws, as it completely wastes all energy needed during the attempt to destroy the claws.

Assuming of course that both fighters are of equal skill, the first option yeilds a never ending stalemate. The second yeilds a win for the weilder of the lightsaber. The third yeilds a win for the weilder of the adamantium claws.

Thus, the question whether one weapon is superior to the other yeilds no actual result.

WHoo.

both win. because at first strike they kill eachother

The true question isn't which would win out of them two, as they are both inanimate objects. It's all down to the wielder...
So a Jedi, or Wolverine...

Lightsaber because I love star wars and don't really give a f**k about x-men.

but you have to know those claws are what - 30cm long? but a light sabre is extremely lightweight and anything it can't get thru, it just shortens itself. but then, the lightsabre is kinda long right? like 5 feet? 4? nvm, all you have to do is do a few fancy moves and slash the guy right down the middle..it goes thru tissue. but hey...if you had a adamantine broadsword and an adamantine shield.. and a adamantine helmet.. and a full body armour...

I agree. It's all a question of distance. For the claw wielder, he has to come within a foot or so to strike. A lightsaber is about a meter long. So to strike with the claws you would have come well within range of the claws. You'd be pretty vulnerable.

I'd use one of Lutz's Particle cannon's
But seriously, If I had to choose my weapon out of those two, I'd go for the Lightsabre, because all you have to do is shop of the hands of the guy with the claws

but wolverine also has an adamantium skeleton, limbs cant be completely severed

Post Tue Aug 05, 2003 9:24 pm

With a Lightsabre they can

Post Tue Aug 05, 2003 10:07 pm

I'm gonna grant the connection between adamantium claws and adamantium skeleton-coating. It seems like the coating came in the same package as the claws - that's the case with Oyama, Wolverine, and Sabretooth.

Nickless, if lightsaber can cut through adamantium, then lightsabre wins period. No need for limb-"shopping" (lol).

Use the ryo kuzu something from Kenshin with a lightsaber. Or the ryu tsui sen. kick their butts with speed, Japanese style

If the claws are actually able to slash the Jedi using the lightsabre then the Jedi "...will become more powerful than you can possibly imagine." ( - Obi Wan Kenobi) So the claw-wielder cannot win because if he does then the Jedi will inspire (from beyond the gave) his young padwan learner to blow up the claw-wielder's Death Star.
