forwarding mails

forwarding mails

everyday you come across annoying fwd:: mails that take up insane amounts of storage space. some claim they've been going on since 18**, there was no internet back then. so much for age.
but i was wandering - what is the point of getting them distributed as much as possible? i'm asking because fwd:: mails have gone from bad to worse in terms of content. i'm getting gruesome pictures of wat happenes when i don't fwd these mails from what originally was my love dumping me if i don't fwd the mails. both are far fetched - far more than our probability of finding life the next minute. so whats the point of getting them forwarded? is ther some belief? or any hint of truth?

um...Nope, don't think so. People just want you to forward stuff because they
1.believe that it's true, or
2.want to see how many people read it and 'pass it on'
Some chain letters, as they're called go on for months reaching thousands of people. Me? I never pay attention to forwarded mails, I just ignore them and delete them from my mailbox. Nothing bad has happened to me...

wel some people I've met like to make one and see how far it goes.
he tracked it(I don't know how)on a daily basis.
he started in singapore the day after it was allready over asia a few day's later it hit europe and it's still spreading.
I think it went like this.

I'm a 8 year onld girl have no arms and legs becouse of an earthquake in (a land when there can never be an earthquake)I made a deal with (some international company)for every forwarding mail I get $0.02 to help me get artificial legs and arms.and if you don't send it I wil visit you in your sleep and torture you after I killed all your loved ones bla bla bla bla
