Stupid amuse me...

This is where you can discuss your homework, family, just about anything, make strange sounds and otherwise discuss things which are really not related to the Lancer-series. Yes that means you can discuss other games.

1) They knew that because the used landmark references to determine their location on the map.

2) Japan is NOT an island. It is a nation composed of an archipelago. There are four home islands: Honshu, Hokkaido, Kyushu and Shikoku. Those are the islands of Japan, but Japan itself is not an island.

Because. I doth quoth the Kenobi: "Who is the more foolish: the fool or the fool who follows him?"

The fellow who question if Japan was an island or not certainly hits the bottom of the intellectual totem pole, but there are layers to stupidity, and the most foolish of fools are the ones who think they are wise, unaware of the depth of what they do not know.

The teacher doesn't exactly hit the top rung of the ladder, either, not recognizing (and the even greater folly of professing to youngesters as fact) that Japan is not an island , but a nation of islands.

But pay no heed to me. I'm just a product of the American public education system. If you believe half the things said about us, you'd expect me to capable of little else than walking on my knuckles and eating lice off of the person nearest me.

How can stupidity amuse you? I get utterly annoyed by chronically stupid people...

Careful what you wish... You might just get it.

When I saw the Square root of 1000 thing, I laughed and thought "What a dumb dumb that smarter kid was." Then, I thought "Well what is the square root of 1000?" It took me about 0.5 seconds to come up with the low 30's right off the top of my head. I guess I am not too dumb. Who knows, maybe I am a genious. Just tootin my horn. LOL

Here is one thing that pisses me off. Soda machine manufacturers are dumb. They need to make the soda catcher hole on the soda machines bigger. Sometimes I want to get 5 or 6 sodas at once. The stupid machine keeps jamming up on me when I get too many sodas. You would think they would make it larger for large customers like myself!!! Dammn it!

I always believed that our definitions of intelligence are too narrow to include the entire spectrum of usage of our brains.

A person may seem unintelligent, but:
Is he/she artistic?
Is he/she musically gifted?
Does he/she display an attention to detail (like being able to tell you what color the lamp is in the 5th from last building you visited)?
Does he/she have a keen memory?
Is he/she 'street-smart' -- able to assess a social situation quickly and efficiently?
Is he/she exceedingly good at encouragement - able to make you feel good about yourself with only a few words?

These are all governed by the human brain. Also, these are all admirable traits. We may be able to ace a physics exam with 30 minutes of study, but the world doesn't revolve exclusively around that gift. It is pure arrogance to attach greater importance to the endeavors we excel at, while ignoring the importance of those we do not.

A parting quote: "I.Q. measures that quality directly applicable to obtaining a high I.Q. score" The man who invented the I.Q. test never actually implied it measured the sum total of all intelligence.

Stupidity uninteligence, and fields of interest are three different things...
