Hmm, I thought solar sails relied more on solar wind (heh, funny when you think of this in laymens terms. Solar sails and solar wind) rather than the actual light. Though IMO, none of this is important until we figure out how to get into orbit easily.

hey.. isn't that sail supposed to go into a forever journey? whats this about going into orbit?

well in order to travel into space...it has to GET into orbit first

Yes, but everything in space is about orbits. Even when going to the moon for example, you don't leave Earth orbit, you just go into a higher orbit, and then transfer into orbit around the moon. Same thing for the Earth-Sun relationship. Even if you're going far out as Jupiter or something you're just raising your orbit around the sun.
