Theories...

This is where you can discuss your homework, family, just about anything, make strange sounds and otherwise discuss things which are really not related to the Lancer-series. Yes that means you can discuss other games.

Theories...

I am in the minority here or has anybody ever actually put time into thinking about how Sci-Fi creatures came about? I'm not getting at who thought of them and how but actually say if they were real and not fictional how they evolved or any other factors which made them the way they are.

E.g. The Predator from AvP, I personally think that the Yaucha as they call themselves where probabally once a crustation type species (Big Lobsters if you will) and could have evolved in that fashion to protect itself from a creature higher up on the food chain at that time. According to the books the Yaucha homeworld is a very hot and dry place (if I remember right) and maybe the Yaucha began life as Big Lobsters (hense the mandibles) to protect them from a Sand Shark like creature. Possibly as their intelligance grew they devised ways of avoiding or even slaying these creatures which eventually lead them on their way to being sentient beings and establishing a society. Once they had established ways of hunting instead of foraging they became predators and not prey which may be why they are 'The Big Game Hunters of Space'

My possible explanination is a bit weak and I'm pretty sure someone here could do a better one.

So I'll get the ball rolling, how do you think that the Yaucha came to be and why they turned out that way?

Another good one is why do you think Xenomorphs from the Alien Saga have acidic blood.

Post here ya all.

No, not really... I always spent more time thinking about technology and space phenomenons (sp?)/fancy physics... But that doesn't count, does it...?
Well, at least i know that the Saiyans are the missing link in the chain of evolution...

Had some thoughs but I came to the conclusion that if theire is live in the universe, it will be not much different than that on earth, so no plants that move over 100km/h and prefer to take eat woman above men (some really old comic), no beast whit teeth as long as my arm who only eat humans but made it trough all those year we werent on theire planet.

All those movie critters look verry scary but they aint realistic, a nothing wouldnt attack every that moves way to enegy consuming.

In the medival they had tails about dragons and griffins in africa, based on story's from pepole who had spoke to pepole that had been their and listened to a sjamman that told them the tribes fairy tails.
But right now we havent even seen anything that comes from another planet and we make up stories. Did we just went for or backwards?

If we ever were to see alien life-forms, they may be so exotic that we would have trouble recognizing them as being alive at all.

@ top gun

theory no. 1
the yaucha; I don't think they where born and evolved from the crustacean
because A=) the yaucha hunt active; a crustacean hunts passive B=) a crustacean has an exoskeleton and the yaucha haven't they have a spine so the yaucha are most likely reptile/mammal halfbreeds.

"theory" no. 2 why exomorphs have acidic blood.
because they can exist in a void. the biochemistry can produce such a reaction that it transforms acid components into oxygen instead of hydrogen

They were drawn by an artist, then brought to live by puppets, robots and cimputers

Have you considered this:

There is intellegent life out there, but they are either :

1. ignoring them as we are less advanced than them.

2. They have declared our solar system to be some sort of wildlife reserve, as they have been through the same things we have, and some of them have come out a lot worse than we have

I firmly believe that there is intelligent life somewhere else in the universe. I also firmly believe that the yhave not visited us, that we have not visited them, and that they are NOT of humanoid body structure, and are NOT all monsterous creatures who want to kill us.

(changed my sig; nationalist all the way!)

@Maswastage: About the sig... What took you so long?

I just wasn't thinking about it, I guess. Then I took a long look at your sig, and thought "Hey! I could do something like that!" I guess i'm a little slow, eh

Post Tue Jun 17, 2003 8:49 am

Considering the size of the Multiverse , I'm pretty sure there's inteligent life somewhere out there... It's just that they live too far away...
@Maswastage: My current sig is OK, I guess... I originally wanted it to be something like this followed by two of these on the left and the right side. Now that's nationalism...
