Erm....... sorry to be serious but that is the way to remove a foreign object from the trachea, whether it be water or something your stupid moggy has tried to inhale. My hope is to study Veterinary Medicine at University so I do do a little bit of research on animal care, and I've had to do a lot of work experience.

For a cat, one should follow these instructions:
Grasping the cat's body firmly, open its mouth and push the lower jaw down with a pencil. Locate the object, using a torch if necessary, and remove it with fingers or fine pliers. If you can't dislodge the obstruction try the swinging method (as shown in the picture above). Now contact the vet.

In the case of dogs, a similar method is used for small dogs,for larger ones this is ill-advised due to the possibility of dislocating joints and tearing ligaments.
