Mariana 'aka Phoenix' was a TLR member who died in a car crash (I think) it was just a little before my time the other Veterans who are still here might be able to help!

Yah, she died in a car crash. And Z was her good friend. Then Z got shot for hacking. Now he supposedly ran away and is making a break for the border.

Does seem a tad farfetched doesnt it?

But if Z's brother's story is for real, then you'd have to consider the possibility of Z scamming all of us (his last name could be actually Lane, and he does not have 2 kids, and lives in Houston, not Mexico). Then if that is all true, then how could he had known a Mariana Sanchez? He probably just made her up.

Im almost definate that Z was not Phoenix, their style of writing was so different. Phoenix always seemed like quite a serious person and went to great lengths to get her point across where as Z is a bit more of joker. People don't just change thier personality all of a sudden.

It can be done... it has been done. I can't find the link, but there's a story about a BBS dweller who pretended to have met and married a fellow forum-goer (a second account he had registered), and he basically made up a personality for "her", along/w a completely different style of writing with typos & unique inflections, everything. People bought it... later he claimed his "wife" "died" in a car accident (the facade had been going on for more than a year at that point), and the entire board was shocked by the news... unbelievable. Some even offered to fly over to help him get through life & deal with his "loss"... they thought they knew the guy sooo well, until he slapped them all in the face by posting the truth, that his "wife" and her "death" were figments of his imagination and that he had felt a need to express his feelings by impersonating someone else.
