Suprised to see me, Mr. Anderson?

Yup, you guessed it right, next movie is "The Matrix Reloaded".

Movie: The Matrix Reloaded
Cast: Keanu Reeves, Laurence Fishburne, Carrie-Ann Moss, Hugo Weaving and many others.
Year: 2003

I'm not giving a summary of part one, and I will try to avoid spoilers.

Story: Zion is in danger. An army of 250,000 Sentinels are digging their way to Zion. Commander Lock wants every ship to stay at Zion to defend the city. Morpheus (played by Laurence Fishburne) however, still beleives in the prophecy and decides to stay in the Matrix to destroy it. To do that, they have to reach the Source. Only "The One" (Neo, played by Keanu Reeves) can reach that far. But first they have to find the keymaker, an Azian guy who holds the key to many, many doors. He is guarded by Merovingian's thugs and "The Twins". Two guys who can shape-shift into somekind of ghosts. It's hard being the one Neo, isn't it?

Opinion: I'll first judge the story. The story isn't better than the one in The Matrix 1. It's not new anymore, that's why. It's, again, very philosofical (sp?) at some points, which I like. There are still some gaps to fill in, which will be done in "The Matrix, Revolutions". Questions such like: who is that man in Zion who wants to kill Neo and why? Why is he giving his blood when Neo's almost dead? Why can Neo use his powers outside of the matrix?

Graphics: Best I've ever seen. One of the most beautiful scenes is where Neo is fighting 100 Agent Smiths (He can copy himself, and Agent Smith is played by Hugo Weaving). Neo is kicking, punches, flying, making saltos, using lightposts to hit Smith with. And most of it is made by computers. When you look very carefully you will see that the Neo on your screen is computer-animated every once is a while but he still looks so damn real. Also, the best car chase can be seen during the movie (in my opinion off course) The twins are trying to catch Morpheus, Trinity (played by Carrie-Ann Moss) and the keymaker while racing on the highway (1/4 mile highway specially made for the movie). It beats any chase ever shown on the big white screen.

Final verdict: A must-see! But I advise you to watch the Matrix 1 first otherwise it might be hard to understand some parts. But even then you can enjoy the movie by watching the perfect graphics.

Rating: a 9 on the scale of Pierre. If the story was a bit more better it might have been a ten. But a nine is good to I'm lloking forward to November, when the last part will be in theaters.

And remember, there is no spoon!

Can you tell me if Morpheus and crew got a new ship, or did they just patch up the Nebuchadnezzar? I think the whole thing got its electronics fried. Was there any mention of the Osiris?

This is my first attempt at a review, I know this is a bit old (I got it out on DVD) but I didn't want to butcher something someone else would've liked to review

Movie: Requiem for a Dream
Cast: Ellen Burstyn, Jared Leto, Jennifer Connelly and Marlon Wayans
Year: 2000

Summary: Based upon the novel by Hubert Selby Jr. "the story inticately links the lives of a lonely widowed mother, her son Harry, his beautiful girlfriend Marion and his best friend Tyrone" Each of them searches for their vision of happiness, clinging to it as everything around them falls apart, inevitably leading to awful consequences.

Opinion: A beautiful movie, touching on the way everyone is addicted to something, whether it be hard drugs, coffee or TV, and how they can all lead to one's downfall. Even when everything becomes twisted and things fall apart, the character cling onto their family ties and their love. I don't think I've ever watched a movie and gotten goosepimples at the end like I did watching this.

Final verdict: A sad yet very moving tale, a new fave for me and an 8 on the scale of Pierre.

Cast: Jim Carrey, Morgan Freeman, Jennifer Aniston and many others.
Year: 2003


Summary: God hates Bruce Nolan. At least, that is what Bruce thinks. Every thing goes wrong in his life. His dog pies everywhere (in the house that is), he gets all the crappy subjects (he's a reporter for Channel 7 news). The moment he hears he doesn't get to be the anchorman (??), during a live report, something snaps and Bruce goes wild. He gets fired and when outside he gets beaten up by a few latino gangsters. God must hate me, is his opinion. He challenges God, Bruce thinks he can do better! And that will happen. Bruce will have His powers for a week.

Opinion: The king of comedy is back! The man with the rubbe rface made another gigantic hit! The movie is constantly very funny (you still have to like Jim's kind of humor). During one scene, where Bruce manipulates the current anchorman during a live show, I couldn't stop laughing. My eyes were filled with tears. Really. At the end Jim Carrey shows us that he can be a serious actor. To bad he didn't get that much appreciation for "Man on the Moon". Morgan Freeman is an excellent God (and yes, God is black)
Despide having God and prayers as a subject the movie isn't to religious. Non-beleivers can watch the movie, believers can to. Jennifer Aniston shows that she should stick to comedy (that's positive) and Jim Carry... Jim... One of my favourite alltime actors! It's impossible what he can do with his voice and face. I'm glad they choose him for the part and not adam Sandler or so.

Fianl verdict: a movie that can beat The Matrix Reloaded on box-office sales is a must see!

Score: On the scal of Pierre a 9.5/10

i'm doing one on matrix reloaded. you guys have the review from wizard, i'm giving my opinion.

there is no such thing as stroyling development whatsoever other than the fact that they are in this human infested city called zion whereas the entire planet it infested by walking metal pieces. and the romance development is .. totally .. out of line. (magify that by scale factor 100'000 with a whole lotta swear words thrown in to see what i mean) and the hero of all times.. some black superman guy with no muscles whatsoever.. is really crap at acting IMO. in fact, everyone is crap at the acting bit IMO. and the romance woman.. i see no point in even getting near her. so all in all, there is hardly any storyline development and any other developments.. and also, the fight scenes are fazed outta reality totally. one guy takes on a whole buncha other guys in suits. i mean.. ur gonna spoil the expensive suits !!

so on the scale of 1 to 10, i'd give this one about a 2.

Anyhow, I'm not into Carrey's style of slapstick comedy. Sorry to sound pretentious, but his movies are crude. The best, funniest comedy I have ever seen has got to be The Great Lebowski.

I like Jim Carrey... I know that his comedy isn't too deep and requires no brain to be understood, but... He is THE BEST at what he does. No other actor (except Lesley Nielsen, and Mel Brooks) can make me laugh so much. When it comes to comedy of character you can't beat Jim... Without proper armaments, that is...

Yeah, The Big Lebowski was a great movie ! I remember a scene with a competitor (some dark-haired dude), who was licking his bowling ball before throwing it; priceless !
