I never got Half-Life when it came out, and I haven't recently because I figured I'd be dissapointed with the graphics since it IS a 1998 game. But maybe I'll get Half-Life 2.

I heard the good news too... I didn't finish Half-life (computer problems), but for as far as I played, it was a damn fine game. I expect better for Half-life 2... I'm so happy, but that contradicts my signature...

And all my happiness was flushed down the infernal toilet and sent straight to the sewers of hell...

i never understood the entire half-life game.. you don't start off with half a life nor do you finish with one.. hes got a full life man.. and you can replenish it.. tell you what.. graphics in HL can really make someone puke (like me for example) when you stare at it long enough. i don't really fancy first person shooters... every single one that i played.. i lost track of the story line.. and ended up getting lost.. and gong around in circles can really kill.

presently, my world is upside down, so if u do not mind, u'll have to tok to my a$$

Half life is a nuclear chemistry term, reffering to (checks books) ahem, " the period neccesary for the number of nuclei decaying during a unit time to fall to half of it's original amount".

I will only buy this game (never played HL) if the reviews are positive and the game lives up to the expectations.
Untill than, I will just continue playing BF/Desert Combat

unfortunately that is the trend right now.. most of my friends wouldnt play cs like we used to be because of the graphics and the game is too old...
the aming industry has become more and more graphic demanding.....unfortunately..

Yah, Adjim, its just sad now. It doesnt even make sense to base how good a game it is SOLELY on its graphics! It boggles the mind!

the graphics in HL are really not bad at all, in fact i still consider the graphics of DOOM to be reasonable

I don't see what's so great about that game, sounds like any other team-based FPS to me.

i totally agree with you about CS Tas, i played it and didn't see what made it so great, rampant cheating and my lack of skill might be influancing my judgement though

If you can't judge HL on it's graphics, what can you judge it on? Seriously though, while HL was good back then, the standards weren't exactly that high. I don't think Valve can easily by default make it better than the original. It will need to be highly innovative to equal the original.
