Novistrana Republic????

This is where you can discuss your homework, family, just about anything, make strange sounds and otherwise discuss things which are really not related to the Lancer-series. Yes that means you can discuss other games.

Novistrana Republic????

I recently visited this WebPage www.novistrana.com because i eagerly await the game Republic: The Revolution i signed up to the little form they have their, im wondering, is this an actualy country or a part of the game? Im very curious, i think i already pre-ordered the republic game, apparently the form on the website makes it so you can win yourself a character and a apartment in the game as soon as its out. Hopefully thats true, someone go check this page out tell me what you think, because i dont know what to think, if they DID really make it a game webpage then they sure fooled me because it sure looks real. And what about the apartment in the game? I thought the game was singleplayer only with a multiplayer component, if its truly a contest for a apartment then that sort of sounds more like a MMO than a normal game. Anyway, go check it out see if you can piece anything together from it, im still trying.

It appears to be a cleverly designed promotional site for the game (Which I am unfamiliar with)

Giving you the feel of it being a real town.

As for the Apartment...

"Novistrana.com has teamed up with games makers Eidos Interactive and Elixir Studios to bring you an exclusive competition to become an actual character in the new video game Republic: The Revolution which takes place in our glorious Novistrana homeland, read this news to find out more.

20 lucky registrants can find themselves within the game. They will have the Novistranian equivalent to their name, will be able to match their sex and be given a specific address making themselves easier to find.

So once the game is out you could find yourself in one of the beautiful cities of Novistrana and follow yourself in real time going to your daily routine.

For an extra 100 runners up your surnames will be randomly picked from the list of registrants given the Novistranian equivalent and assigned to characters within the game.

This is a first in the gaming world so don't miss this opportunity and register now as this competition finish on the 15th of April."

Read this.

Of course... this is pretty amusing.

well i would really like to buy, and play Republic: The Revolution and i read both those articles yeah, the game looks pretty damn awesome. I think i finally figured it out, whoever wins this little contest of theirs, gets a model of them put in the game, how cool would that be, seriously? if your a winner you could be making your own life a living hell, eheheh, i still dont get the apartment deal, i do understand the model part, but if your character does get a apartment in the game, seriously, what does he do there, and the bigger question what will YOU do there when the game is out? i still have trouble thinking this through, will the game really be that detailed to have each and every person having their own residence? and with all the previews i have read, i have seen things from driving cars, to people getting into fistfights to riots, now, what exactly do you DO in the game, the closest i got was that your supposed to plot, plan, and execute a revolution.

This has got to be the most intriguing titles of 2003. I hope Rebublic is a real winner as on the face it looks to be creating a new genre on it's own.

I personally can't wait to check it out, anything new that differs from the endless production line of RTS and FPS games always catches my attention. Bring on the REVOLUTION!! Mustang for Presidente!

I can´t wait to get my hands on this little jewel Indeed it must be one of the most ambitious and promising games this year, if not ever !

The model they fasion after you is NOT the player character.

It ends up being an NPC....You can go visit the construct at it's apartment.

Basically YOU are in the game...Not as the player...but as atmosphere.

For example.

If you name was Nick Overton, they would make the character Nikolai Obertov and give him an apartment in the game that the player character can visit. They will also send you the address of that apartment, so you can find yourself (again...not the player, and NPC).

Something Awful

I too am looking forward to this game, i pre-ordered it already. Anyway, im kind of dwindling on its actual content though, if you goto www.gamespy.com and goto PREVIEW and theres 4 previews of Revolution. In the first it goes over what the game is supposed to be and how you play and blah blah blah, then the second it says there will be over 50 cities with a million citizens spread over them, and each city will be unique. Then, in the third preview it says there will be 16 cities, each will be unique with a million citizens spread over em. Then, in the third preview it says there will be 3 absolutely huge cities with no mention of the number of citizens spread out across them. It seems to be dwindling in content descriptions, nonetheless i eagerly await this little "gem" i cant wait to order snipers to assassinate anyone in my path, befriend the army and get attack choppers then take over the presidential office by military coup. hehehe, i cant wait, i heard after befriending the army you will get transport and attack choppers/armored cars/tanks like i said, cant wait, and multiplayer sounds like it would be the coolest. Anyway, if one of you wins, when the game comes out i would like to know the characters name and address so i can sic my snipers on em! hahaha, or have someone punch him out in a dark alley, sounds awesome, i hope you guys sign up, i already did before i even posted this, sounds like a terrific game, in the previews on GS i saw in detail about a priest working for another faction who was first bribed, punched out, and after getting several special forces soldiers escorts him to and from got killed by a sniper. hehe, i would have done the same if he was making soapbox speeches in the park against my regime.
