Aargh, is there somewhere you can complain about spam?

This is where you can discuss your homework, family, just about anything, make strange sounds and otherwise discuss things which are really not related to the Lancer-series. Yes that means you can discuss other games.

Aargh, is there somewhere you can complain about spam?

We all know this kind of spam: "Someone likes you! You want to find out who this prson is? Click the link below!

This is the email I've got:

A few weeks ago we sent you a notice informing you "It's time... we'll just tell you who your secret admirer is!" Unfortunately, you might have experienced some technical difficulties and we apologize for the inconvenience. We have corrected the problems and invite you to try again.

On March 22, 2002 someone told us they secretly like you and we told you that special someone is out there. You still haven't figured out who it is so now we're just going to tell you!

Click here to find out who likes you

Have fun and write to us with your success stories!

Best wishes,

The SomeoneLikesYou Matchmaker

Welcome to the Real world

oh, and clicking the link let's the people at the other end know you exist and they continue sending you mails plus sending details to others like them!!!!!!

Being a webmaster at work I receive lots of mails telling me I have either won something or someone wants to give me 50 million dollars/pounds, all I have to do is give them my bank details.......ummmm, gee let me think

There is no true way of riding yourself of them, maybe setting up a filter to recognise certain mails and just delete them.

Good luck

I'm using hotmail and yahoo mail. Both of them have spamguard. You just select spamguard ON and - no probs. If any spam still seeps through, you just block the sender's address. Dunno what kind of mail you're using, but you could contact the provider and inqire about spamfilter/guard or whatsoever.

Best thing you can do is switch ISPs, and never and I mean never use your e-mail address to sign up for anything . Use it just for giving to friends and such. Then, create a free address (a lot of ISPs will offer you several for free) and use those to sign up for stuff when you have to. When you start getting a lot of spam from them, delete and create a new one to replace it. I wish I had done that when I got cable internet... I can't change my primary e-mail address, and I can't get DSL, and I'm definitely not getting dial-up, so I'm stuck with spam until I move.

Spam is the bane of all things mostly good.

I get about 5-600 spams in my hotmail.

I have thier spam filter turned on to paranoid, so that only people I have in my address book get thru...However it goes into a bulk folder....and if I don't check it every day...they will disable my account....Happens to me all the time...Then again...I do use the Hotmail address as my spamcatcher....lol

The ISP I work for gets spammed a lot too.

When I come start work in the morning....I have to usually deal with anywhere from 40-100 spams....that come in over 7 hours.

I hate them mostly because dealing with them here at work is time consuming.

My favorites that I get....is the "Increase your bust size, naturally!" Ummm....I'm a guy...I don't want bigger boobs....Not mine, anyway..I have a hairy chest...would look like a female gorilla....lol

The problem with that SomeoneLikesYou.com is that you don't sign up!! Someone likes you (d'uh) and with giving your emial adress to that site they contact you. So basicly I have to kick my secret admirer (lol, like that's possible) for giving my adress
