FMV''s

FMV''s

You know, i really miss FMV's. I know it costs money for studios and actors but it really does seem to make a game more interactive to me. You guys miss that too?

I remember when i got WC3 and watched the FMV's, it was so cool, then i was actually Mark Hamill (Christopher Blair) walking around on the TCS Victory.

Seems games are now taking the low cost, voice only approach. I was diappointed they did it to Jedi Outcast, when the prequel had excellent FMV, the opening was like watching part of a movie.

Ahh, the good old days...

yeah i agree with you i miss them too i was disapointed when they didn't have an FMV for Jedi Outcast when the ones for Jedi Knight were so good

Would be Diablo, Grandia2 and JediKnight (yep, stil ^^) in my list.

Hmmm... anyone around here played Grandia2? I know it's anime and so not everyone takes a liking, but to me it was one of the best 'oldschool' RPGs for PC. Even played it twice and that says a lot for a linear level-me-up RPG.

Thief2 (Garrat's a man after my own heart)
Myst, II and III (Interesting conversations had - Actors included in these)
Return To Castle Wolfenstein

There are more, but these are the ones I have revisited lately!!!!!
Shame about the guys who created Thief going out of business, they were really onto something.

I thought someone bought the rights to Thief and that there would be a 3rd, great series either way.

Im a fan of FMV but we are only another 5-10 years off from being able to render those type scenes in real time. Something to think about eh?

about the best videos saw were in C&C series. Live actors do a lot to add interest to the game. Drawn movies are also cool, but second to real acting.
