I think its a DOS game. If it is you'll need a proper DOS rather than the imitation used now. Im not sure if they put any DOS into XP though.

You can try running it in Windows compatiblility mode. This is about as close as you can get as Windows XP does not use DOS as a basis.

You won't get it to work in XP, no matter how hard you try. DOS/95/98/Me are the only OS's in which it'll run.
