U.S.S. Hurricane NX-80000

Here's some pics of a Starship I'm making for Bridge Commander, but I might try to put it into Starlancer as a Fighter.

U.S.S. Hurricane NX-80000, Hurricane-Class Torpedo Boat. It has 18 Torpedo Tubes (of which 14 would on be used in Starlancer, since they are the Fore ones) and 7 Phaser Arrays (i.e 7 Starlancer guns)

Thanks All

The reason the Textures look abit rough is that, the Warp Coils, The Name, Registry and Starfleet Symbol were applyed to Plane Objects in 3D Max.

I make my Textures in PaintShopPro7 and always save them as BMP

lol, trust me always use microsoft paint after using whatever package you use, and transfer the data into jpg format, then back into bmp or whatever format you're using for the game. I always do it and its a great way of getting a better feel to your textures - they'll be rougher as jpgs have a limited color orientation.

Hmm, I always save mine as .jpg in Photoshop7, but I'm still a newb at modelling and texturing so I may not know what I'm doing.

Alas my copy of Pant doesn't work. So I am forced to use PaintShop7

lol, no matter. Its just a dirty quick trick i always use
Its of course, entirely optional and a far better texture can easily be achieved by hand edits

I'm having trouble converting them to shp format. So If anyone is willing to help, I'll be really grateful. I'll E-Mail you the files and then you can try and sort it out. If you feel that different Textures are inorder, that's fine with me, if you do, just try and keep to the original.

So any takers?

What program do you use for that models?
Beside that...with some textures they could look nice

Post Fri Feb 21, 2003 1:52 pm

I use 3D Studio Max 4 for my models. I learnt how to use it last year, for a unit in my Uni Course

Looking good, but the NEcelles need to be longer and thinner, the coil area is too bulky. Scale them longer and thinner verticaly and you will have it perfect there

The ships all in all look excellent, I may actualy try whatever new and idiotic system to put mod ships in Bridge Commander(I left BC's modding community when Dasher42 and Sleight left) if you release those ships
