Ifancy modelling a 3d fighter and, if I do a good job, possibly crow-barring it into starlancer. So which 3d package do you folks recommend and where can I get it?

I'd recommend trying some of the free modelling packages first, as the more advanced the software is, the more it costs.

I've heard that blender is a decent modelling software, and it's freeware afaik.
