Freelancer Explorer

On the first note, I was unsure where to post this, so if this is the wrong area, I am sorry.

Secondly, the point. I have been trying to create a new series of systems for my discontinued but now restarted mod. Everything works fine, except that it continues to say that it is unable to create the new .dll file for the names. I would like to know if this can be fixed, or if I'm screwed.

Everything is nothing, but nothing is not everything.

Just create the names and info cards in FLEd-ids.

I never was able to get Freelancer Explorer to get the names right, so i used that. (It always put them on wrong station or base for some odd reason)

I use that for my ships, so thank you for that, I was just wondering if there was a way to fix that problem since it's going to be hell (time consuming) to get that many things named.

Reinstall the latest version. Freelancer Explorer can output the dll file just fine, but I would not recommend relying on this program for handling your IDS entries properly. The IDS support in FLE is only there for convenience while you are editing. Use FLED-IDS to do all IDS stuff for your mod.

Ok, I have found an older copy of FLED-IDS on one of my system back-up disjs and am able to use that. But my question does still remain; could there be a problem since I run Windows Vista?

ok, I don't know if this is Freelancer Explorer's fault or not, but Everything in my mod is id correctly, but when you enter my planets, the name that appears changes for some reason. In space it's fine, but ont the planet, it's not. Why?

Post Mon Jun 04, 2007 6:00 pm

There are two places to name a planet, check to make sure both have the new ID numbers.

a) Universe.ini under the base name for that planet, i.e. LI01_17_base

b) In the LI01.ini file where the planet is declared.

Thanks, that fixed it.

.... a small offtopic note 2 an off topic statement

his is what happens when you try and dock rape. (This is not me) Noobs trying to dock rape

Nice video
- but the guy who made it, will get laggy + jumpy with his video captureing tool.
So the guy might be more a cheater, than his opponents noobs.

I really hate to tell this to you.
But after encountering the very same problem with names showing up wrong..
I usually scratched everything and started over.
Even the IDS editor cannot perform miracles on a screwed up .dll.
I can't possibly tell you how many times I've had to start over from scratch again because the names could not be corrected or show up properly.
I had to learn how to limit making mistakes.

I've been wondering around this problems also. For some reason one day FLE picked to throw up an error that says "An error occured during the update of empty_dll.". Therefore the dll. that has worked with FLe for the past 2 years just stops. The dll. is ok, there is nothing wrong with it. Just FLE picks to be a punk.
I've tried reinstalling FLE also, still getthe same problem.
The problems doesn't happenon an older computer I have, FLe will update the same DLL perfectly with no problems. So anything knows what theproblems could be? BTW I am running windows XP.
