Crossfire 1.6 Crash update

Hi Swot,
I am still encountering the crash at the same place, even with the 3d sound deactivated. last error msg I had when I tried to deactivate Crossfire was

3687 files restored and 0 directories deleted
Error: problem activating 'Crossfire Mod 1.6 Client Edition'
Error: SHCopyFile failed ('E:\Windowsgame\Data\Missions\M01A\m01a_01.thn.flmmbak' to 'E:\Windowsgame\Data\Missions\M01A\m01a_01.thn')

Can u advise as to what I may be doing wrong

If you've deactivated the game, I'd suggest doing:

A complete reinstall of the game - delete your Freelancer folder, insert CD and intall the game (you won't lose MP account ID this way).

Complete deletion of your save games directory for Freelancer - my documents/my games/freelancer - delete the accts folder.

Then try activating the mod and attempting again.

Hi Thanks for that. Well I have reinstalled the game and Crossfire. it loaded in this time but I do not have the new startup balance or the extra guns on Manhatten. I'm getting pretty confused by this any suggestions?

Hi,
I am playing now now but the explosions of other fighters wipes out my shields. in the Ashcroft mission each time his fighter blows up he dies and we have to start from the autosave point again. Been at it now for some time. I'm in the Defender with Drail and Justice III's are they to powerful? Or can I tone down the explosions so as not to kill him every ...... time?

I have Tried deactivating all but one of the guns but he still dies and the explosion is the same. Not sure what else to do.

tractor it in before it explodes or wait for CF1.62 (which will be submitted to LR this evening)

Hi, Can't tractor just wont let you b4 it explodes. Any idea how long b4 CF 1.62 will be available on the Downloads page? Cheers, BJ
