joystick use in FL

Sorry about this as i believe that discussing it is now almost considered bad manners. But I bought FL when it forst came out and was totally put off by its mouse control and yes I did finish the game but recdeived almost no pleasure in doing so unlike other space sims (and I mean all: Elite, Priv, priv 2, wc 1-4-P SO, FL 1 &2, SL, FL, IW 1&2, Tachyon, Priv remake , DS1 etc).

So has any genius come up with a joystick support mod for FL?

I have about 4 still functional joysticks but being lazy and sick to death of joystick programming I now use only the Afterburner 2.

Ahhh !!!

I had all of that...I just hoped that there may have been an easier way.
Never mind i will finish DS1 first before I bugger up my mouse.

FL with a joystick is possible... just not very convienient. Use all of Bargib's information up there for mapping a joystick to have keyboard functions. Use this in conjunction with one of the mods that allows rolling to get some functionality. I tried to play like this for a while, but it became obnoxious quickly. However, I think, if you take the patience to fine tune it, you could make it work... just don't try it with MP. You'd be dead in seconds.

You have to configure it, it's harder than it looks! I am telling ya!
