Ok, I got in there, and now it tells me it cannot find the file. I've looked in Vindoze explorer and verified that the pagefile is indeed gone. Everything is fully disabled in the control panel.

However, when I ctrl-alt-del to get to the task manager, under Page File usage, it still shows that about 365 mb of the pagefile is being used, and that about 42 MB of the Kernel memory is still paged.

Does this mean that I've successfully unpaged, or is it still hanging around?

it's ok, you've done it. leave it as it is now unless things start to go awry in apps. I've been running my main machine like that for nearly 2 years and I have had less problems than when I used a pagefile (and my hard drive is almost silent now) apart from one app that needed the pagefile.
