whats a good percesser

i wanna buy a new computer in a couple of years what s a good processor intell pentium 4 or the athlon processors or the amd semperon processors which ones are better. also i am going to use this computer to run my server on thanks.

your server? gaming server, presumably. if that's the case, then the Opterons are prob your best bet, but make sure you have plenty of good fast RAM. dual processor board would be good too.

I'd stay away from the current crop of Intels, if I were you, except for the Xeons, but they're not much use for gaming. Business class servers, couldn't be better, but for your purposes, AMD is the way to go. If the Opterons are a bit rich for you (no pun, Richard!) then go for the Athlons.

Of course, it all depends how much wodge you're prepared to shell out. Nothing good is cheap.

ok thanks alot because i had my i on this one its like 495.00 form this site nuegg.com you can get up 4 gigs of ram in that bad buy . and its a pentium 4. it come with a tower a keyboard and a mouse thats it from acer

that's a good price. You can't really turn your nose up at that.
