Does the Radeon X700 Pro Video Card, PCI Express, 256MB GDDR3 work with Freelancer?

I do not see why it wouldn't, as would have to support Directx 9.0, not to mention 8.1. Why are you asking? Do you have evidence to the contrary?

Short: Yes. Reasoning: I have a friend with an X700, and the X700 is far from a bad card. Just look at the min req's. FL has a minimum of 16MB VRAM, and the X700 has 256MB. Easy as 3.1415...

I have an X700 on an amd 4000+ system and found that I had to upgrade the driver to the latest build. Freelancer (single and multi) were freezing up occasionally. Have not had any trouble since I installed the latest driver.

it's purely driver related, the card is more than capable, but often driver releases cause more problems than they solve. Hardly surprising, the number of hardware/software combinations is vast.

Sorry for the thread necromancy, but I have a Sapphire Radeon X700, PCI-E, 256 meg. Works fine and dandy with Freelancer, currently using the Catalyst "2D Driver Version 6.14.10.6631".
