Mod Installation

Hello all,
Here I am, new to this place, and of course, unable to get the mod to work. I first extracted the files to the mod manager mod folder. It put a bunch of crap there along w/ the said FL version update. I first updated FL. Then I unzipped somethin called FL mod Hashcodes - just add water. A ton of txt documents appeared. Anyway, I thought, ok, that was odd, and started FLMM. Before it opened, I got an error message. It said this "there was a problem while inspecting one or more of the mods in the \mods folder. Please read the log for more information." I sat there saying, oh crap. Anyway, I only had 1 choice, ok. So FLMM came up and I had 2 new mod thingies. 1 was named DLLS and another was EXE. I couldn't activate both at the same time. I was confused because I thought the mod would be named something like "fox's Freelancer Un-named Mod-Thing v0.8 Beta". Anyway, I couldn't log on your server or anything, which is probabley a good thing, because I've been on others servers that use mod, and they always crash when new ppl log on w/ out the mod activated. Plz help guys! I want to be appart of the FL action here! Thx.

Simplest wat to fix things. Delete and reinstall freelancer. 2nd, delete and reinstall FLMM, 3rd, download and install SDK1.3, 4th install your mods in FLMM. Do not install updates, or any other hash file. Open your saved games folder My Documents/My Games/Freelancer/accounts/Singleplayer and delete any saved games. Open FLMM and activate the Mods you want, noteing any in orange may conflict with others and those that show red will conflict with others and list those that it does conflict with.

The

deal is, a mod may have been corrupted or missing files. The SDK fixes a lot of this. Give this a try and let us know how it goes. I have done this my self and it fixed a lot of problems. *Note, if a mod is crrupted, redownload that mod to fix it, getting rid of the old one first.

Alright thx alot! I've finally got the mod to show up in FLMM, only I still get that error message. The mod activates fine though. Anyway, 1 more question. When I create a server, is there anyway I can play on that server I created? Also, to create a LAN server, do I just uncheck the box that says "make server accessable to the internet"? This new server stuff is kinda wierd to me right now lol. thx.

Fraid I'll have to let another help on the server aspect, I'm a single player only, and never done any of the MP and server side things. As to the error, there is a bug with the mod, if you have more than it in the FLMM folder. Try opening FLMM on the c: drive and delete that mod and then reinstall kust it and no other. That will determine if it is the Mod. If it is, delete it from your drive and redownload it again. I have had a couple do this to me as well.

To play on a server you set up on the same comuter, just start FL like normal and go to the LAN section of MP, you should see your server instantly.
