Help?

Hi sorry I am very new to Freelancer, i am currently having a problem with logging on to a server myself and some friends have been playing on. I have created a character and bought an eagle ship and equiped it, but now when i try to load my character it throws me out and shuts down freelancer. I can however create a new character and play from scratch? Any ideas would be much apprieciated as i dont fance all that work starting again.

which server?

If you created a character, and the server does not have the file, it kicks you out for a cheat. I deduce this as you say one from scratch works fine. You need the server to have the same file available.
