hold_size setting not working?

I'm trying to change the hold_size of my ship to 100000. I've changed the shiparch.ini of every variant of the ship I'm trying to change, but no joy yet.

I'm using the Frontierspace 1.75 MOD and I've posted this questyion there as well, but I figure more folks might see the question here and reply a bit quicker.

Is there any reason changing the hold_size from 75 to 100000 shouldn't work?

Also a couple other questions while I'm at it.

Does the MOD generally need to be de/re activated when I make a change to an ini file?
What controls adding to the cargo space when an engine is added?
Is there a cargo modifier? Something that says if 'this' subtract 75% space?

Currently when I log in and goto comoddities to buy them I can only fit about 36-41 items. Thats with hold_size = 100000

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Ok, I just changed every single ship in

Freelancer Mod Manager\mods\Frontier space_v175\data\ships\shiparch.ini

to hold_size = 100000 with absolutely no change in cargo capacity for any ship that I can see... I'm stumped.

Are you checking in-game, holding your mouse cursor over the bar showing capacity? You need to change the infocards for them to update it to your current capacity. But that's just for polish, in game you should already have the 1000000 cargo (if that's possible, I havent tried it so..). So after you buy the ship, hit F7, hold your cursor over the cargo bar and the capacity should pop up reflecting its actual number.

Never mind.. stupid me forgot to do the same change on my client version of FL. Now it's working fine.

Yes, it would still work though.

All you did is go to shiparch.ini and changed the hold_size settings, correct? It would hold that amount but to actually display it on the Ship Information when purchased you will have to edit a dll file.
