starting to mod

well, i have decided that i want to try my hand at modding Freelancer, and i think i can figure out most of it for myself, but what i need help with right now id the scale.

the ini files obviously have values which define where a particular object is, but my problem is that i have no idea how many of the units amounts to 1 kilometer in the game.

also, i'm having trouble making a jumpgate to my new system. i placed the gate near Planet Manhatten, but when i enter it, i never exit it.

i'll take this step by step, first i'll place suns, backgrounds and planets and stuff, i'll worry about bases in a while.

one more thing; is it possible to convert Freelancer's ini files into Java? i actually know a fair bit about that language. i doubt its possible, but i just want to ask anyhow.

Have you D/L the SDK patch?

Quickfix is better.

Freelancer counts in meters. So 1k would be 1000, 100000 would be 100k. easy? good.

Going into a never ending jumpgate means that you hooked up your systems wrong. Freelancer Exploer takes all the work out of making systems. Just click a few buttons and you'll be on your way.

No, I don't thinkit is possible, but SDK files decode the FL files, so there won't be any need.
