Um...

1. Go get the big pack of tools and "other goodies" which you can download from here. It's a big download, but well worth it- it has all of the FL modding tools you'll ever need.

2. Install the FL SDK.

3. Sit down and read through the INIs for awhile.

4. Start making small changes, like moving things around a little bit, to get the ideas behind the position/orientation system used in maps.

Once you have a basic idea of how INI changes interact with the game engine, Either try out Freelancer Explorer (always use the newest version) or hand-code your System from scratch.

Basically... coding Systems requires that you learn about the INI structure of FL very well, including the Universe.ini and Mbases.ini files. You can make Systems in FLE that are problem-free a lot of the time... but when they're not... you'd better have the coding knowledge to figure out what went wrong, because your chances of getting help are pretty low (just warning you now- unless your problem's not covered in a Tutorial somewhere, you're not likely to get help).

Argh...I added a link, hope that's the big pack you're referring to and you don't mind someone editing your post.

Yes, BP that's the link, and I just didn't add it because:

1. I'm terminally lazy
2. I didn't have it written down for reference
3. I couldn't be bothered to search for it

Thanks
