FLE not working

Whenever I try to call up FLE, it gives me this message:
Cannot open file : C:\Program Files\Microsoft Games\EXE\FREELANCER.INI
Anyone know how to fix this?

yes
you typed C:\Program Files\Microsoft Games\EXE\FREELANCER.INI

it should be C:\Program Files\Microsoft Games\Freelancer\EXE\FREELANCER.INI

Should I typw that in the directory? I tried that, and now it gets mad at me and tells me that it cannot create a director that already exists. WTF?!?

i tried renaming my freelancer than starting up fle and the same thing happened and i could not do anything so it looks like your only choice is to re-install fle

for me with it said it could not find universe.ini i chercked me freelancer files and it was missing - i di not reinstall - i just download sdk and that helped me a lot mroe aswell

Well what the heck is is Freelance.ini? I used SDK.........didn't work!

freelancer.ini is in the EXE folder when you enter the freelancer folder
eg. C:/Program Files/Microsoft Games/Freelancer/EXE/Freelancer.ini

It isn't in my EXE folder, where can I get it?

If it's not in your exe folder, you've got a corrupted copy of FL on your computer.
Uninstall FL, and then install it again.
(Don't reinstall, as any corrupted files will not be replaced.)

Ok, I get the corrupted part (have to install every time I put the disc in after it being out for any priod of time) so I'll do that now.

Thanks guys.........I got it to work by un-installing and re-installing. Now, LET THE MODDING COMMENCE!!!!!!!

lol you don't have to keep installing it everytime you put the disc in, its just when you put the cd in it automatically runs the interface that you install it with...the files stay on your pc the whole time, it just needs the game disc in to run is all...
