Yes it can. The Data/audio/music folder. There is a mod I love, the SWMM that adds the music from Star Wars to the game. Look at it as to what and where music is added. I say that, as posting all the information is long, though I will show piece -

Ok Heres wat ive done. i put the music (killing in the name of by rage against the machine) in the freelancer audio/music file wateva is called, and changed the systems space music to Music_gateway (which is wat i called it) but when i go to my system there is no music. Did i miss something?

What type of file is it? ie, a .wav, Mp3 ? Waves work the best. Wma may not work, which is what some music files are.

I covered this in the 'newbie questions look no further' thread. If you check (I know, its going to take about 5 minutes of your life...) in the thread that says its got it all up above, you will find it contains links to pages in the newbie questions threads. I suggest you have a read - and find the correct page for adding music to freelancer. Then you can add music! It needs to be in a certain format etc
