Can Ship Class''s be redefined

Can Ship Class''s be redefined

Was wondering if it's possible to introduce new ship class's beyond the available
and / or redefine the information linked to class . Or is this hard coded in as i havn't found any cross reference's to class or ids info linked to it yet.

Nope sorry the number of classes is hardcoded at 10.

And what do you mean by the second option???
If I understand well, you mean if it is possible to change the info related to each class, right?
If it is, well each class doesn't really have infos related to them. We know class 10 is the best because of the class 10 weapons.

But you could make all the class 10 weps be class 1 and inverse each weapon of the game. No problem on that. But don't forget to modify the hardpoints so they mount the weps well too!

That's not actually the point of the post. There are 4 classes of ships used in the files for FL, think Kiti wants to know if it's possible to create new ones

Yes it is then. Simply name your ship as being a Very Very Heavy Fighter!

There are no defined categories of ships. We classified them for easier understanding. HF aren't a group defined in inis, it is simply an amount of ships we grouped together because of their similarities.

Hmm what i really mean is for the line used in shiparch eg. ship_class = 3
which will display "very heavy fighter" on the icon in shipdealer can that be appended or changed. eg. ship_class = 4 or 5 etc with a different discription e.g "useless fighter" or what ever.
