mission 21 bugs me

Here you can discuss tactics and strategies to best beat your opponents. What is the best loadout for each ship? How do you use "Reverse Thrust" and "Sliding"?

wanna be a bit more specific? ya hgotta fly to escort positions behind the enemy carrier.. alright, make sure u don't hit anyone, take out the carrier when they say and book it back to the yamamoto to switch vehicles, then do exactly as the commanding officer says, anything specific that goes wrong?

Mouse? What mouse? There's no such thing as fine motor control in MY deathmatch!

Define "everything"? Perhaps you forgot to launch the torps? Press Enter 4-6 times to make sure you launch ALL your torps.

i fire all the torps. but there no effect on the NS VARYAG, and the wing cmdr. said to "abort the mission" as soon we fire all the torps. that what i'm talking about, when we fly back to the YAMATO i get kicked out to another unit, and the funny thing is that i get blamed for it.

Wth?? Did the torpedoes HIT the Varyag? Are you in formation, I mean are you sure you parked your bomber inside those red "formation indicator rings", or did you just pick a random target?

I'm sorry if these questions insult your intelligence, but to be honest, this one is an entirely new breed

Post Fri Feb 14, 2003 12:47 am

yes, i did everything, even parked in the rings, i wait for the order to fire i do and then the flight cmdr says that nothing happen to the VARYAG and then says the mission is aborted.

You're probably firing that little bit too late, same thing happened to me 1st time round

That's a real mystery for me, man. If you fire all the torps (make sure you do - a few extra hits on the "enter" button or a respective joystick button won't hurt) as soon as you're told to, it should work OK. Maybe that's a bug? Hoe many times did you try that mission?

Post Sun Feb 16, 2003 7:16 pm

i try about 4 to 5 times and still doing the same thing, and yes i fire ALL the torps, did you guys light up the subtarget before firing the torps, like the" shield generators", before firing at it?, or could be any part of the VARYAG?, this is a mystery for me.

Hey,

When in the rings have you tried aiming slightly higher (ie. nearer)??
Also you might want to try drifting closer when the order arrives...makes for a little fun if you get too close though

Post Wed Feb 19, 2003 2:17 pm

Maybe you fired at the wrong ship? I dunno... this is weird. Didn't someone else recently have a problem w/ this one?

Post Tue Feb 25, 2003 12:48 am

Hey guys, i found why, when i fire all the torps i have to move away from the blast, now i'm trying to get all the torps coming from the enemy and that hard to do, im using the hawk missiles, what you gys are using to get them all?

Post Tue Feb 25, 2003 10:10 am

LOL! you mean you forgot to go back and land on the Yamato after destroying the Varyag?

I use Solomons. No need for locks.

i use a combo of raptors and screamer... the screamer i usually try to have at least 40-60 for a mission, and the raptors are good for quickly taking out that last little bit of health when the enemy runs away like mad cus they are very badly hurt...

sending 10-15 screamers into a kurgen is always fun.....

I use Raptors. I tried the suggestions in the mission guide, and nothing worked. I asked for help here, and used my tactics with other people weapons selections. I just sit in front of the Yamato, target the torps as fired, get a lock with raprors, fire, immediately change my target, and repeat. Have a fast ship with blind fire to chase down any torps which may get close.
