How do you hotkey weapon hardpoints into weapon groups?

I'd love to group up my weapons into the most efficient for doing shield damage, doing hull damage and other (distruptor, mine, ect.).

The manual is sorely lacking in specifics here and the strag guide only says that this is possible, BUT not how.

Can anyone PLEASE give specific details, step by step, on how this is done. I know there is a way to hotkey for firing the active weapons, and default is the right mouse key, but nothings seems to indicate how to customize 2-3 different weapons groups and be able to switch off depending on the situation.

Any help is appreciated (and again, please give DETAILED explanation).

yah, try in the FL discussion, not SL tactics...

but what u do is setur controls to the right stuff (select weapon, assign group, activate group, i use shift + # to select weps, alt + # to assign group, and ctrl+ # to activte) then select the weapons u want, ie the 4 lblades/etc then hit assign group #X (1-6) and then select a diff wep, then hit acticvate group (1-6) in the end it is a waste of time... not enuff time to select different weapons in mid battle, just blast em with everything u have...

if u are concerned with hi enrgy drain, get lesser enrgy drain weps, like lasers/tachyon cannons.
