New awesome projects

More than 3 years passed by since FL was released and the need for something new and a continious development is bigger than ever before.
The SWAT Portal is one of the oldest Lancers communities and the improvement of FL is our task. We started building up our communitiy at the days of Starlancer and today the SWAT-Portal is home of many good clans, coders, shipwriters and mod creators. Over the years and with the development of very good mods such as Crossfire we were able to introduce many new, never seen concepts and features to the FL community and for sure this is not the end of it
With the upcomming new version of Crossfire and the release of the other new mods the SWAT Portal is going to continue the development of new ideas, concepts and features.

Well as you can see its a long list and now we could need some help with two upcomming projects.
One is a privateer 2 remake called "FL Darkening" and the other one is called "Scifi Wars". Both mods will be very complex with many features. The conceptional work has already been finished and now we need a team turning these concepts into reality.

We need:
Shipwriters and Texturers
System creators (which know more than how to use FLE)
Scripters (for storyline and other features)
Story writers (for quests, missions, infocards, ...)

The plan is to finish these mods in 2-3 months (not much time - i know) and go online with them on two good servers then.
So if you want to be part of this modding team ... here is your chance.

"StarLancer - The Sol War" will be released in about 2-3 weeks

What is it?
Basicly it is a new game based on a public game engine telling a story that plays after the original Starlancer story.
The game is a space shooter like Starlancer itself. It will have joystick support (including force feedback), 3d sound, a screen resolution up to 2048x1536, a physics engine, dynamic light effects, reflections and tons of other features.
The game will have a singleplayer story campaign with 24 missions (just like in the original SL) and 10 simulator missions. You will get a mission briefing before every fight does start and hopefully you will enjoy the fights together with your wingmen.

Story?
well the story will start right after the story of the original SL did. The Yamato is going to be repaired and the 45th Flying Tigers will be thrown back into the fight against the Coalition.
I wont tell you how the story will develop or end... i just can say that this game is just the first part of X games which will show what happened during the 100 years of war against the coalition to close the missing gap between SL and FL.

Question are u guys ever gonna do somethign similar with fl? OR do you need a source code to make new story lines in FL.

well - crossfire is about FL telling a story after the nomad war (and story missions are planned for the next version of the mod)

The Sirius Expansion mod (SirEx) deals with the same... telling a story after FL

additionally we have future plans to create a new kind of FL (converting it to a new engine which also would allow to play it on a MP server)

but as usual time is the problem and we need much more ppl helping us with those projects
