I Have some great ideas for turning this shallow game into a real titan for space shooter top guns like me. These are some practical suggestions for expert moders of freelancer.

1 Hire a wingman: You walk into the bar, talk to one of the clones and you get the choice of hiring them as a wingman.
2 Be hired as a wingman: You talk to a clone and they ask you to escort them somewere.
4 buy a space station (could be a battleship) Assemble a fleet, hire mercenaries etc.
5 Have arch villains in the gallaxie that realy hate you and you get a bonus when you kill or capture them.
6 Become a political giant and control a whole sector with the ability to attack and take over over sectors
What do you guys think ?

Unfortunantly, none are possible with the existing engine. Wingman deals can be done in MP game only, owning a station, try X2, only factions can be coded to "own "stations. As to the last 2, again, an idea for Mp game, with other players working together. sorry

I have at least 10 ships that I've created that I would like to place into my own personal mod....all at the same time. This FLMM one at a time just doesnt cut it.
I am attempting to lear how to ini edit these ships to install them into the game, so any helpful advice would be appreciated.
Is there any type of ids search engine that could look up and identify empty slots?

The easiest way to add multiple ships is to use FLMM's xml scripting capabilities. I've done this to test all of the ships and new bases in my team's mod.

Check out Argh's xml toolkit (search for it on the home page) for some highly documented xml scripts that he has said can be used as a codebase for other modders.

Coalition mod, a compilation style mod using both creative designs by the community and role playing ideas to make the mod, ive shed alot of the packaging for the quality of the gaming, Unfortunately my expertise in error solving are not that great.
I would request help in the area of ...fixing? helping to isolate errors that due to lack of knowledge in specific areas. I do know alot about freelancer, just not the why or hows of few things so im not clueless at all and can do my side of things in a limited capacity.

The mod itself is nearly done so i dont need any major help such as ships or any of that stuff, just a person or 3 to help show me what i did wrong, show me WHY this or that is needed to function better. so on so forth. I dont want my mod to be the BEST, just want it to be a mod that suits every style of gameplay, RP, clan wars, guilds, full on pvp, and enough to actually create a working world that doesnt get boring, while still maintaining the integrity of the challange.

Id love to be more specific about what things need fixing and honestly SOME of them are probably not big fixes.. but the lack of knowing for sure hurts alot. IF any one is interested in helping me or giving a few tips please contact me via email [email protected] or [email protected] and MSN using the same hotmail account.

The mod is on lancers for those to take a quick look at it before talking with me about the current version.

My mod and I wish to create a new mod that hopefully will turn into a total conversion mod. We have several objectives that we wish to achieve for the mod. My team has several good coders on board, but we are mainly just a group of friends and unfortunatly none of us are capable of creating ships in Milkshape or Gmax. So we are looking for freelance ship designers to create some ships for us. We do not care if you give others the ships, after all it is your work. If you care about the mod, here are our current objectives:

-Replacing all the original systems, and adding some for a total of 66 systems.
-Taking out all the factions and adding 6 nations, as well as supporting groups
-Creating new jump effects
-Taking out most commodities, and replacing them with new ones
-Putting in all new ships
-Creating a new class of ships, the assualt fighter, a suped up heavy fighter
-Replacing all guns, possibly creating new guns effects

However, we realize the large size of this mod, so we are working in increments. We are currently working on the new factions and systems, and as stated before, looking for freelance ship creators. Of course, you will get credits for any ships you design. We have some artwork availible, on our website Earth-4275 . Thank you for your time.

Just to start off...After years of modding Freelancer I can offer some quick insight...

This isn't possible. Freelancer supports just 4 classes of ships, 0, 1, 2, 3, or, Light Fighter, Heavy Fighter, Freighter, Very Heavy Fighter - respectively.


-Replacing all the original systems, and adding some for a total of 66 systems.


That's quite a number of systems you're aiming for. Be sure you're ready to take on the challenge. Also, it's a bad idea to have many people working on systems because when you make a system you not only edit that system but any system that has connections to it (E.G. New York -> California).

Thank you for your observations, I appreciate your thoughts. However, I did not fully expain. To create the new ships, the ID's will say they are a different class, but they will really just be modifications of other ship classes. And then for the systems, the rest of my team is working on other parts, and I am working on the systems. I realize that there are a lot of systems, but I am making a lot of progress and have already completed the first five systems. (With the exception of all jump gates to systems not created yet)

As a note to my previous post, the site has been expereincing difficulties and is not all online yet, and we have many errors in our pages. Please bear with us, and we hope to get it up before next weekend.

i already have the ship and i want these things in it

-4 lvl 6 guns
-2 lvl 6 turrets
-60 nanobots and 60 shield generator
-4000 armor
-2 missiles
-and 2 special made guns called"alpha gun"

I am looking for someone to make models, textures and hardpoints for the ships from the game 'Tachyon: The Fringe'.

It is preferable if the people who apply have played the game because it would make the job a lot easier.

This would be included in the Tweaker Mod version 1.2 (or 1.11 if I have not been able to get it to TLR, which seems to not get my emails).

Being swamped at home with raising two kids and more,i no longer have the time to invest into learning and doing with freelancer, so i come here to ask someone: Can anyone put together a Server Side mod containing: Capitol ships, junis defender, Kings ship, Blood dragon ship, any other ship of merit for online play that wasnt used from SP campain? I want to run a basic Server using vanilla, but after a bit it will get old and i wanted to offer a slight more then the norm to the players. I would run battleship missions, increased ai, loot and all those but those are easier to find and incorporate for me then the ships.(yes i can to a point do some modding)

Please if anyones bored and wants to make a server side mod for me please reply or send to my email [email protected], This mod more then likely WILL go on a server so please make sure to "sign" your work.

Hi All,

I hope some of you remeber I posted some time ago about doing a mod for Freelancer based on Aerotech and that we were in need of help. The project was temporarily on hold due to real life and the lack of responses from experienced parties to the help request. Well I'm glad to announce we are back at it and our modeler is cranking out ships like a madman. We currently have our basic sysems laid out and in roughly 20 systems with 75 planets and shipyards as well as the basics for the new factions 19 main and 56 corp. There are a dozen ship models completed and another half dozen to be done within the next week and many more partialy completed out of the roughly 65 ship intended total. The fact is though we are a small group of people with little experience and learning as we go so to get this done and made available to the masses in a reasonable time frame were gonna need some experienced help. The mod information page will give you a better idea of the models status and the main page please ignore initial release date and related links page will offer a better explanation of the depth offered in choosing Aerotech and battletech related material as the basis for a mod with some great rp capabilities. I need sombody for a some Mods I am making. The first is Liberty Explorer, which adds extra bases and surprises to liberty, as well as making Alaska usable.I need somebody to help me with what the bases sell. (Can NEVER keep track of all the shields/guns.) I want to eventually expand it to the whole of Sirius, thus making Sirius Explorer...
